Nascar
Just wondered if anyone is a big Nascar fan or am I the only one? We jsut got back from the races on Monday and had a great time.
If you like Nascar who is your fave driver and why?
I am a Jamie McMurray and Elliott Sadler fan. I like a bunch of them cause I have met several at races and talked with them, so its hard to choose a fave, but those are my 2 faves right now. Jamie is a great driver, even if he doesnt win, hes the nicest person youll ever meet or hang out with. I hung out with him last week and had a blast. Elliott has a lot of potential to be great and I see him as slowly getting better and better...
Im not a big fan of the people who are very rude to fans and snobby and just act better than everyone....

I love NASCAR!
I was disappointed in the outcome of Sunday's race though. Not a huge Johnson/Hendrick fan at all. But at least my guy, Dale Jr., is still in the points lead.

I am a true blue DEI fan. I love Jr and Mikey Waltrip. I also like Kevin "yip Yap" Harvick. The one I really hate? The 97 Car Kurt Busch. Have you caught Nascar 360 on FX? And the spike channel had many nascar themed shows during the month of May.

Aren't they the guys (NASCAR) who only turn left?
Personally, I've always liked road races. But then I grew up driving sports cars.

NASCAR wants to build a race track in NYC. Seems as strange as the time I saw two women, dressed like they were Amish, walking in TriBeCa.

WTF? Why would NASCAR want to build a race track in NYC? That would be some expensive urban renewal, since you need lotsa real estate for an auto racetrack...

They're looking at Staten Island. There is no way that NASCAR could afford to do it anywhere else in the city.

The land is mostly marshland and they would have to be a huge environmental cleanup. I doubt it will fly anytime soon even though Bruton Smith and the Frances have been in talks about going 50 50 into the development.

well count me as a redneck and proud of it. I go to a ton of Nascar races each year. We tail gate, drink, have a BLAST. It is the best time.
As I just got back from Lowes this week, my husband and I were there for 12 days and had a blast partying and watching the races, plus we met a lot of cool drivers.
Give me Nascar anyday. Im addicted.
360 is a pretty ok show. Ive caught it a few times now. Harvick makes me laugh.

All I can say is that I have an ORANGE cat named TWENTY!!!
I totally LOVED the race on Sunday -- we actually made a big long drive into Charlotte early in the morning, and didn't get home till the next morning. BUT - the tickets were in the Clubhouse Suites, and $193 for FREE!! Indoor, AC, comfy seats, NO SMOKING, and a great view from the start/finish line! I could see Tony's pit right in front of me, and a great view of the whole track.
Like him or not, Jimmie totally deserved that win. His car was the hottest I have ever seen any car at a race! Heck, after Jr. got his lap back, it only took about 15 laps and JJ was already 3/4 of the track ahead of him. If that race had stayed green the whole time, I honestly think that JJ would have lapped everyone. He was that good!
And the cake, icing, and sprinkles for me....
[1) CRYING Ryan blowed up!!! YEE-HAW!!! I'm sure he tried to blame it on Tony (even though Tony was nowhere near him), as is his usual blame-game.
2) Bobby Labonte wrecked!! HEE-HAW!! Payback for passing his brother 4 years ago on the last lap -- "nobody puts Terry in a corner"
3) TONY passed Rusty WHINER on the last lap -- yeah, 20 didn't win, but hell, passing Rusty was worth it for me!
Also -- let's be careful with the "redneck" comments -- some people find it highly offensive (not me, but some people do -- they were going to have a car sponsor with the word "redneck" in it, and NASCAR denied them due to problems with image).
PLUS, you may be a redneck, but tickets AREN'T cheap, so you should have some $$$ somewhere, redneck or not!
GO TONY!!!

Awesome. We are members of the speedway club so we sit in ac boxes too. We were right in in gate 5a up to our seats way at the top. I love Lowes. Always one of my faves. I have 3 diff family members who are employees for diff Cup race teams so we always have a blast..... I hadnt did the whole stay for the All Stars and then go to every race during the next week then the 600 before. It was a long week without the beach lol but it was def sooo much fun. We go to the 600 each year then the Aug race there too, but I think we will include the All Star race too from now on.
No offense to the TS fans out there, cause personally, I think hes great, but this past week he sure had something up his butt. He was mad everytime I saw him. I even talked to him for like 15 mins and he was grouchy. My hubby thinks it may be cause he couldnt enter the Indy races cause of the diff car brands issue. Usually hes super nice though. I love having family in the right places so I can hang out in the pits and with the crews and get the gossip. Some of the crews will gossip about everything, its hilarious.
Jimmy was awesome. His car was out of control. He deserved to win..... I was rooting all the way for him.
Wonder if Jeff will win this coming weekend at Dover? I know he does pretty good there so well see. I am in the fantasy sports thing on yahoo with a bunch of friends for that and I wasnt sure who to choose to win this week. I know Gordo, Stewart, and Newman all have won there twice. Well see I guess.
Im going to Pocono the week after so Im excited. I need to become a teacher so I can go to all the races in the summer. I loved college and summers off for that reason.... I hate being a grown up anymore lol....
Who do you all think will win Dover this weekend?

Okay - now I'm SERIOUSLY jealous. You were talking to MY MAN before the race?! You have got to hook me up! Would you please tell my man that in his honor, my orange cat was named Twenty? And that my husband wouldn't let me spend $2.75 on the Tony Stewart toothbrush, but that I am going back to Wal-Mart incognito to buy it?!
You just tell me how many PartyLite gift certificates it will take to get in with your gang!!!

I think Ryan Newman may take Dover again this weekend. But I hope my fave, Jr does well enough to pull away from Jimmy Johnson in the points standing. I don't know about tickets where you guys are, but here in Chicago, you have to buy a season pass which means you're paying for races you may not want to attend. Well at least we get an IROC race when Nascar rolls into town in July.
