It's a DAMNED Small World...

So, for the past three months I've been crushing on my co-worker Greg. He is the epitome of everything I would want in a man...smart, caring, handsome, and genuine. However, I don't do the dating the co-worker thing. That just has DRAMA written all over it. I really don't want the "awww, ya'll are so cute together"crap. We already get the "awww, ya'll should be together" stuff as it is. Anyway...

Well, I brought in random pics from his Birthday party and forgot I left other pics in the same pile. So, after work we have a beer and sit to look at them. He picks up one of the pics and it's of my apartment building. *Let me just clear up that my apartments are only 6 units, they are privately owned, and not too many people move in and out.* Apparently his older brother lived in my building like a year ago...which I didn't think was a big deal.

After talking some more, Greg was like "yeah, the mirrored ceilings in the bathroom really freaked me out" and I nearly spit out all my beer. The only apartment who has a mirrored ceiling bathroom is mine. Then he proceded to tell me the whole layout of my place. I just sat there with my mouth hanging wide open. So his brothers used to live in the same apartment that I live in now!!! How FREAKY is that? I never knew Greg before I started working where I do...so it's freaking me out that I live in the SAME room his brother did.

Okay, please...this is a sign right?? Please someone just say it is a sign..lol

Anyway....tell your "it's a small world" story

There are too many, but a couple of quick ones.

A woman I worked with as TV directors in Baltimore later got her PHd from Ohio State and lived in the same off campus apartment that my Sister-In-Law did when she went to OSU several years before.

Not long after I was married, I was in Athens at Ohio U. for a football game, and was walking up the bridge that takes you from the stadium to "uptown." I started chatting with a pretty young student who turned out to be sharing an apartment with a woman I had dated in college -- AND Mrs. DeltAlum's brother had been her high school speech and debate coach in the Toledo area. On a campus of 20,000, what are the odds?

This may not seem like a big deal to some, but for NYC it's a good "small world" story I think.

Many random friends, either from teaching or their friends/rommmates etc I've met and found out go to my church here in the city. There are 4 different very well attended services which makes it pretty funny when I meet someone who goes there too.

Another church related story...my parents in Florida were telling a man at their church that I live up here and he said "Oh a long time ago I sold a car to this minister from up there. He was on his way to Mexico for a missions trip and his broke down so he came through Orlando and got one from me. She should really go to his church" He was talking about my minister! Small world..

In general, I take this all as a sign I'm going to the right church!
