Do They Exist???
Do any of the following fraternities/sororities from these movies actually exist anywhere???
Pi Delta Pi, Alpha Beta, Lambda Lambda Lambda, and Rho Rho Rho from Revenge of the Nerds
Delta Nu from Legally Blonde
Alpha Gamma from an episode of the Golden Girls. I believe Blanche mentioned she belonged to them
Delta Tau Chi from Animal House
Delta Omega Gamma, Kappa Omega Kappa, and Pi Pi Pi from Sorority Boys
Can you think of any others?

None of the orgs. exist as inter/national orgs. in the NIC or NPC maybe as a local but I doubt it.

Alpha Omega Pi (not to be confused with NPC's Alpha OMICRON Pi) from Pumpkin. I think there's actually a local with that name.

i think this had been covered already...
however, the fictional Delta Nu in Legally Blonde was changed b/c of legal issues. In the book, Elle is a Delta Gamma.
Perhaps there is a Delta Nu out there, none which i am aware of.
*this better be on jeopardy or millionaire one day*

I'm a nerd...
Delta Nu Exists
Kappa Omicron Kappa doesn't.
Delta Omicron Gamma doesn't.
Pi Delta Pi doesn't.
Alpha Beta doesn't, nor does Alpha Gamma.
Tri- Pi doesn't.
Rho Rho Rho doesn't.
Delta Tau Chi is exists as a local at both Iona College and and West Liberty State College.
Finally, my favorite made-up fraternity, Lambda Lambda Lambda does not exist.

This is correct. The Delta Nu came from the following...the house that Reese visited (while "researching sorority life" was Alpha Nu chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Southern California. The producers squished the chapter name and the fraterntiy name together to get Delta Nu (Delta from Delta Gamma and Nu from Alpha Nu) for the movie.

Actually, Blanche said she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta, which most certainly does exist.

It isn't likely that any national organization would give permission for use of it's letters or any other copyrighted materials for use in movies or TV shows such as these.
So, to use "real" letters would be an infringement.
I suppose that a local might agree -- after all, several have worked with MTV on their "reality" shows. Dumb and Dumber.

Grr! Epsilon Rho Rho doesn't exist. That was the robot fraternity that Bender belonged to.
And I'm not going to get any hits for Kappa Kappa Wong or Snooty House.

I wonder if Delta Tau Chi made up their name from Animal House. It said they came on campus in 1986 which is way after Animal House so I wonder if they took that name from the movie?

the father on Leave It To Beaver mentioned he was a member of Alpha Kappa. Wonder if that one exists?

Delta Nu
Ok so I was bored and didnt wanna do hw so I googled and Delta Nu exists at Dickinson College http://www.dickinson.edu/~deltanu/ it says that they broke away from Chi Omega they have existed since 1971. But I dont think that it has anything to do with Legally Blonde. Its interesting to read the HISTORY, though its sad how it says it broke away from Chi Omega

Re: Delta Nu
That is sad because it does not make Chi Omega look good. I am sure there probably were a lot of problems with discrimination in the 60's with WGLO's, but that certainly is not a Chi O policy anymore (if it even was a true policy at that time).

Did Chi O ever try to reinstall a chapter at Dickinson?
