Nashville Country Music Marathon and Half

Anyone else go, run, walk, volunteer this weekend?

Just got back from Nashville today. Sunburned and achey. But what a fun time it was. I did the half marathon at a walk and stayed alongside my mentor and her sister with Team In Training. My plans to run/walk were foiled by the downpours that started right as the race was about to start. The good was that I felt awesome through the 13.1 miles - I felt strong and even though I wasn't going my potential, it was OK. My time at 3h16m was worse than when I did the St. Louis half-marathon 2h52m, but thats OK. I have been training during the week at an 11-12 minute walk/run mile pace. San Diego is just a month or so away!

I think everyone who participated in the marathon deserves congratulating! I'm just sorry we had such sucky weather for y'all to run in!

I know, it went from 50s and raining like mad to 85 and humid like mad. Hopefully, San Diego will be nicer.

I know two people who are running in San Diego for cancer. One is my sisters friend and quasi adopted big sister. Another is a former co-worker and drinkin bud. When is the big San Diego race.
