I had one of my best Easter's ever. Mr. P and I have been married 23 yrs. I am Catholic ,and he was Baptist. After almost a year of classes he became Catholic this week-end.
Christopher was here for the mass(happily home from Iraq and settling into his new life in Savannah.) My Mom and Mary Cathryn rounded out the Amen corner.
It was a great week-end.

How exciting! I went through the RCIA myself in 1988 and LOVE going to the Easter Vigil to remind myself of that very special day.
I didn't go this year though because I was feeling punked out from a bad cold.

I thought religious guilt was a Catholic thing only...
I am feeling really guilty and I'm Baptist... guilt was a catholic thing I thought.... but I guess the 10 years of living in a half catholic household rubbed off on me.
Anyway, I'm guilt-ridden because I didn't go to church for either Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday. There really is no excuse for me not to have gone. Though I spent Easter lunch in the hospital with my grandmother, I could have gotten up really early and went to the early service or I could have gone to the hospital for services... one of the nice things about a Catholic hospital, mass every hour on the hour.
I do like going to Catholic Mass, every once in a while, because of the ritualism. I know most of the We Believe. I just don't say the part about the Pope. And I love going to a good Latin Midnight Mass for Christmas, it is so pretty.
For my religious sisters, do you believe in signs (ie the burning bush, only more modern)? Anyone seen the movie, Fools Rush In, kind'a like that.

as far as "signs" are concerned - i'm not sure!
while spending the past few months waiting for word from grad schools i've prolly tried to read into absolutely EVERY thing that i've seen and heard. i really kinda wish signs existed and that i could see them.

I just think that things happen for a reason, so maybe you not getting word about your schooling maybe a sign that it isn't your time yet.
Maybe there is a reason why you should wait till next year to go to school.
Maybe this is also my judeo-christian way of dealing with life... for example... I interviewed for a position at the beginning of last summer, needless to say I didn't get the position. Well, the job I have right now came along... it isn't my ideal job but it got my foot in the door... because the job that I really wanted was only offered to people working for the AOC currently... so without this position I wouldn't be getting the job that I really want... the funny thing about this whole thing is that the position I interviewed for at the beginning of the summer was for a restuarant that was opening up a new location, and it wasn't open when I applied last summer... well the new location is right next door to the job offer I got today...
so I see the fact that if I had had the job that I had first interviewed for I wouldn't have been in the position that would let me have the job I got today (does that make sence?)
Anyway, I hope you get a sign today about your schools. If no's then you can move on to other things for now, if wait listed you'll know where you stand, and if yes you can start making plans!
Good luck to you,
Arin
