"I'm in **** sorority, you can't talk to me like that!"

Ever get that line before, or vice versa with girls (substituting fraternity of course)?

That was the funniest thing I've heard in days.

I've never heard that one before! Although, some people clearly have that attitude.

I think I would look at them as if they were out of their mind...because clearly they are.

Not that exactly, but at my undergrad school, when the fraternity parties were "closed" on Friday and Saturday nights (whether they were closed due to capacity or whether they were private parties), you would always hear girls walking up saying, "I'm an ABC, they have to let me in." or something to that effect.

some of the sororities at my school are reallyyy stuck up and do things like this.... i can't stand it- and it gives greek life a bad name.... so when girls think about rushing- they are like- oh well i don't want to be one of THEM or get hazed like that.... so then we have to explain that we aren't liket hat... so annoying

You know . . . and that was a funny story Blueyedgirl . . . more people probably think like that than you might think . . maybe all of us a little. Whether we derive our sense of superiority from our greek affiliation or something else, most people do have a bit of one.

I know I have sat there before and thought to myself, wow, you are neither my physical nor mental equal . . . who gave you permission to speak?

I wonder how she would have reacted if you said, "I am talking to you that way, because you are in **** sorority."

We had a couple of those. It's fun to snicker about them in private, though...kinda like we're doing now.

LOL. Too true, too true. Just remember to keep that internal monologue on mute, James...that's what gets you into trouble!

I've never used any lines like that but, I was living downstairs from some D Chi's once and they would have fight nights, and sometimes even parties and get really loud. They would never listen to my GDI roomates when they asked them to quiet down but If I put my letters on and went upstairs they shut up real quick. Not necessarily cuz of what org I was in but maybe cuz a of a mutual greek respect thing? I dunno. Or it could have been just cuz I was cuter than my roomates? (the one who always complained was a little weird)

It would be because you were cuter. And if you went downstairs topless, those loud men would have been completely speechless, and loud no more.

Haha, exactly.

Your self-esteem shouldn't stem from your Greek affiliation. Either you're hot isht or you aren't, and being an XYZ change that.

Not quite the same, but when I first joined my chapter, there was a brother who was dating a member of a sorority that was "first-tier" . He always used to introduce her and refer to her as "(organization name) Kelly." Suffice to say, he had internal monologue issues as well, and said this in front of her a few times! She didn't remain his girlfriend long.
