Chartering

Hey all. It's been a while since I have last posted, but I wanted to give you an update.

On April 2nd, the Epsilon Kappa Colony will be receiving our charter at our Red Carnation Ball. The cool thing about it, is that we are the fastest group to charter in the history of TKE.

It's been a long hard road. There has been a lot of work from when I first transferred from Alpha Xi (Drake). But it's all worth it now. I'm so proud of these guys.

Anyways, If any of you are in Chicago, contact me, and we can go out for a drink or something and you can meet the men of Epsilon Kappa!

Congrats guys!

I don't know if you remember but a few of us from Zeta Zeta came down a couple months ago to help you guys out with a ritual meeting. Like I said while I was there I knew you guys could do it!

I wish I knew the old record! I think it was around 10 months or so...

For us, we got our Colony status in October....and chartered April 2nd. So that makes the new record 6 months.

We have worked our tails off....but I tell you what, nothing has been as hard as doing all that work alone in the first year. Talking to the school, IFC, IHQ, etc. Sheesh! Once I got others involved, they all made it so much easier on me!

Anyways, we are in the last week here before the chatering....I will update you all after it all goes down.

Alright! As promised, here is the update from our chartering.

On Friday afternoon, we had the ritual and former Grand Hegemon, Chris Grasso served as our chief installing officer. Greg Roskopf, Joe Rugger, and Jim Dunning were also in attendance. Everything went smoothly. We initiated 13 new guys and then had the installation of Chapter officers.
It was a very awesome ceremony, especially hearing the words "I now declare this first meeting of the Epsilon Kappa Chapter closed."

We all took a break and got out stuff together to go downtown for RCB. The reception start at 7pm at the Millenium Knickerbocker Hotel. 8pm, we went into the ballroom and started the dinner. Damn it was good!

Later on, we had our awards ceremony and speeches. This was cool but nothing topped when Frater Grasso presented us with our "charter" (I say that cause it was only the certificate since we get the actual charter in NO next summer) Then, Rugger and Roskopf presented us with the horseshoe.....then came the open bar.

What a great time! We were dancing, chanting, partying, and having a great time. Then the party "ended".

Actually, we just moved it to the Palmer House since that is where we were staying. The coolest part about that is that I managed to score us the penthouse!

We partied there and then most everyone passed out.

There are so many funny/great stories from last night. It was good fun. I think most everyone is still basking in the fact that we got chartered...6 months! Oooweee.

It was also cool that some of the guys from Zeta Zeta came down to party with us.

Oh man! I think this is one of the coolest things I have experienced....just seeing all of that hard work finally take form....noone could ask for more.

wow, congrats!! Sounds like you guys had a nice little party, and you had a very good reason too!
