TXi-LA-Laf. Super Bowl Party fight problems
ULL's Theta Xi Fraternity Disciplined

A fraternity on the campus of Louisiana-Lafayette has been placed on probation for a year and restricted from hosting parties for the rest of the semester.
University officials say the discipline is in connection with a February 2nd accident that left one student with severe injuries.
Eighteen-year-old Derek Guidry, a member of Theta Xi's Alpha Omicron chapter, allegedly hit another student with his car when fleeing a fight with a fellow fraternity member during a Super Bowl party at the frat house.
Guidry was indicted this week on charges of underage operating while intoxicated.
His blood alcohol concentration was point-073.
The legal limit is point-oh-two for people under age 21. Prosecutor Bill Babin says the victim had to have surgery on his legs and has been confined to a wheelchair.
The school's director of Greek affairs, Pat Cottonham, says she believes the fault in the incident lay more with a few individuals but says the fraternity should have been keeping reins on what was going on in the house.
Theta Xi's national director, Jim Vredenburgh, says the organization has not determined whether it will take any disciplinary action against the ULL colony or individual members.
Another campus fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, was recently suspended for two years for a hazing incident last fall.
