Arrow Negative Posts

All registered users are allowed to post throughout GreekChat and that is fine. However, we as women of Alpha Kappa Alpha will not tolerate such a gross lack of respect for our sorority and our forum. Take it somewhere else because it will be deleted.

Since this thread was prompted by Brittania44's post, I want to tell him/her that if you think posting such negativity would cause a disturbance on this forum then you have been disappointed because we are beyond the pettiness you want us to display. You are not the first person to attempt to create chaos and I'm sure you will not be the last. I can tell from your post that you are an immature individual so you still have a lot of growing up to do. Just do it elsewhere.

I saw this one during my search. Being a Sf myself, I still can't understand why our newest SF's STILL tend to get so darn BOLD. I had a little attitude myself when I first began my quest and even screwed upa few times in posts on various forums, But I LEARNED from those mistakes!!!!When will my fellow SF's at least learn to be respectful and HUMBLE?

I know it may seem like I have alot of nerve for this post but it bothers me too. I get tense when I see some of the replies

Cool

Moderators can't eat lunch, dinner, or sleep at night without some ignorant soul posting foolishness.

Even though I deleted the thread referring to us as "rude b*****s", I did get a laugh. Why? Because that person is a coward and lacks intellect. Too bad they are unable to express themselves appropriately. I think they have been sippin' the "Hater"ade again.

Sorors, I'm so proud of you. As always, you conducted yourselves with much intellect, grace, and charm. Skee-Wee!

Ladies we have to realize that some people attempt to use this forum as an attention seeker while the majority use it for entertainment and conversation. It may be something missing from their lives, be it family relationships or lack of friendships. Attention seekers want the spotlight whether it's negative or positive and you can usually weed these people out very early. Usually negative responses gain more attention so this is the avenue in which the person seeks. I know we all frequent this site on a regular basis, but when you check a profile and a person who has been registered for less than a month has over 100 post, then a red light should flash. Let's not give anyone that power to ruin the positive vibe that has been established. If a person knocks on your door in an effort to get your attention and you turn off the porch light, eventually they will get their a$$ off your porch and go home....right? So with this being said, I refuse to give unstable folks any more spotlight time. If I've struck a nerve, the guilty party will respond no doubt.

I know how highly disrespectful it is for me to be posting a message in this forum, but I was just curious as to what constitutes a "negative" post. I suppose my audacity to have started a thread without first saying how much I respect and revered you ladies may have had something to do with it, but I started a topic about the website and it was promptly deleted. However another SF posted a question on the same topic, and somehow she did not receive the same reaction as mine did. My thread was deleted and then the old thread, which honestly did not answer my question, was bumped back up with a message to be patient and basically to mind my own business (I'm paraphrasing of course.) this is disheartening to me, as I have been a striving SF for three years, and am well aware of what I've been told is proper ettiquette. also I've monitored these boards for upwards of two years, and used to post quite frequently under another name, yet I never felt that people were rude to me. I realize that now, even posting this, I will be called psychotic, immature, disrespectful...but I've always been taught to address an issue that's concerning me. I'm just happy I've learned to treat people as I want to be treated, regardless of whether or not I feel I posess something that gives me a false sense of superiority, because I will let nothing and no one separate me from the love of God. Again, i realize how much of an uncouth heathen I am, thank you for your time.

And to the other SF's...Is it really necessary to harp on how clueless and inept other sf's are all the time. Can't you be more confident in your own abilities and attributes that you don't have to tear another down to elevate yourself.

I really dont' believe that every post is one that deserves the time and attention of everyone on this message board. There are ones that have a blantantly direspectful tone...regardless of who says it that should be dealt with accordingly. Greekchat is not the place to massage your ego or make you feel better about your chances of becoming a member of XYZ organization. What it is is an internet site of people with various opinions, life styles and organizations. To expect each response to be treated with respect is well conceived in theory but difficult to instrument into practice. It is best that we all face the fact that as SF's we can be wrong about way we approach members or ask questions. In contrast, memberfriends can become mean spirited and hurtful. Neither of these are in line with the AKA Greekchat board. IF you are disrespectful, you should be dealt with. Why should anyone have to put up with that crap?

Just as you said about "other SF's", you have no right to doubt our confidences, attributes or abilities in ourselves. By saying what you said, you have placed yourself in the same category as those who "harp" about how "inept" other sisterfriends are. This is an aggregious contradiction to your quoted post.

Elevated1,

You okay, sweetie?? If you've been monitoring the boards for 2 years, then I'm sure you see threads get locked all the time, but usually not without a similar thread being brought back to the top. The 2nd thread about the website included a link and a specific question.. perhaps that's why it didn't get locked. I don't think anyone was referring to posts like yours when they said "negative posts". This thread doesn't really seem like it has anything to do with your experience, let alone insinuate that someone accused you of being an "uncouth heathen". Like I said, if you've been around, I'm sure you've seen the really negative posts for yourself. I respect ALL of my fellow sisterfriends, but in this case I think you're just being a little bit oversensitive. No wait.. a lot. Relax and try not to take things so personally!

Negative posts are basically posts that are made to purposefully cause trouble. We have a few who pop up from time to time to do just that. That is what is meant by a negative post. I don't remember what post you made about a website, but we have two posts like that now, and that may be why yours was deleted, I don't know.

I will say this, though, your post is way off base. Psychotic, no, you have a LOOOOONG way to go for that, lol. But we ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha don't need anyone to toot our horns. We are not looking for anyone to revere (sp?) us or tell us how much they respect us. We're not insecure like that. We already KNOW (right, Soror Convinced? ) that we have it going on! As far as having a false sense of superiority, I'm not really sure what to say about that one, either. If you've monitored THIS board for 2 years, then you know how we run thangs up in here. It sounds to me like you may be insecure about some things, otherwise, you would not have thought that my post was about you or even had anything to do with you (what's that phrase? a hit dog will holler?). I don't know what to say about that, either.

In closing, please don't let the resurrection of this thread cause any more hoopla than it already has. Please continue on with all the good convos and fun we've been having. It's really not that deep, really.
