WHITNEY HOUSTON
I am a great lover of music of all kinds. My family is very musical so I grew up listening to Gospel, R&B and Blues, as well as watching rock on MTV. One of the people that I liked growing up was Whitney Houston. My girlfriend bought the Greatest Hits album, and I must say it's off the chain. But it's a shame what I feel she's become lately. I mean you never can believe what the tabloids and other magazines say all the time, but come on. Man I'm not a hater nor do I have a Ph.D, but he has not been good for her or her career. What do you think?...Just spreading some greek love. YO-SKEE!

I have enjoyed Whitney's music, too. I don't think that everything tabloids print are true, but sometimes they do hit the nail on the head. Everyone knows about the airport incident several months ago. I just hope that whatever is going on in her life gets straightened out before its too late. She has had a great career and it would be a shame for people to remember her for something she could have controlled.

I think you are so right. Hopefully she will see the light soon since Bobby has admitted his problems.

Lord, Lord, Lord, You know I L O V E me some Whitney Houston! I hope she will see the light. The sister needs prayer and support. Actually, I just find it hard to believe that her life has turned out life this. Although she sings pop, I always felt that she had a strong relationship with God and I pray that her spirt is again renewed.

Let us all remember that she is still a human. We all make mistakes. I just wanted to say that because I have a friend that is just devestated about this Whitney situation. I told her to get over it.

Just and update. I hear that prosecutors in Hawaii are charging Whitney with possessing half an ounce of marijuana during the airport incident some months ago.

Whitney Houston will be up for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the first annual BET Awards (http://www.bet.com/MUSIC/0,1821,C-7-67-230152,00.html). In light of her recent problems, how do we honor her? What I'm speaking of is the way that can seperate the artist from the personal life. How do we do this?
I'm concerned because of the message it may send. I love Whitney and her voice. I sincerely pray that she is able to get through her addictions and poor surroundings and see the light. I am just pondering the message that we are sending. Are we awarding Whitney Houston the Artist or Whitney the Person and how do we do one without allowing one aspect to overshadow the other.

Well, first, let me say that Whitney Houston is a very talented singer. She has made some of my favorite songs.
Now, let's get into her personal life. Whitney is from and still lives in New Jersey, which is close to my home. I know for a fact the Whitney has a drug problem, and not marijuana. Whitney and Bobby both use cocaine. To me, marrying Bobby was a mistake. She used to be such a "classy lady" but now it seems as if she has gotten, for lack of a better word, ghetto.
It is such a shame to see someone who was so talented travel down a path like that. Personally, I feel that she doesn't sing as well as she used. During some live performances, her voice wasn't nearly as strong and she couldn't hit the high notes that she made famous. Supposedly, she was sick, but the drugs have taken their physical toll on her.

The question is...
Will she make it there? OR Will she be a no-show?
I guess she has to put practice putting the pipe down. She has like 6 more days to go!

There is nothing wrong with BET giving her that award but she needs help! When you choose to live a public life folks are gonna get in your business whether you like it or not! Marrying Bobby was the worst career move she ever made. It sounds harsh but the truth hurts. I was/am a die-hard fan of Whitney and I don't see how you can be a superstar and stay married to a man that has been in out of jail several times, has a drug problem and brings in no income on a yearly basis! She needs to admit that she made a mistake. Either that or help him and herself get their lives together.
