Soul Food
Hi Sorors and SF's,
I was just wondering if ANYONE can tell me when the new episodes of Soul Food will start showing again on Showtime? That is the only reason a sista subsribed to Showtime in the first place. It's getting a little frustrating running across town to my homegirls house to watch Sex in the City. I don't know about the rest of you all, but cable is a bit too high for me to have two premium channels. Trying to budget is not fun. With gas prices being what they are I won't be driving across town to watch Sex in the City much longer either (lol). So somebody please help me out and let me know if I can get rid of Showtime (temporarily) and get HBO until the new episodes of Soul Food start.

I know that's right! June 27th. AKAME92 has a topic open (SOUL FOOD UPDATE). From my experience, you can switch/ cancel your premiums at any time, but the cost may not be that much different. I have digital cable with ALL of the channels. I tried to downgrade and drop my Cinemax premiums, but the difference was only about $6.00, so I kept them (we get about 5 different Cinemax movie channels).

U need to do like I do and did, soon as Soul Food showed the season finale I cancelled it and ordered Starz. In 2 weeks, we will get rid of Starz to get showtime
I know of people who have ordered HBO for just one night to see a fight

Sorors, you both have a point. I have digital cable as well, but only one premium chanel which is Showtime. I can't even get all of the other movie channels like I thought I could. I don't have a problem getting all of the In Demand movies...for an additional $3.95 per movie. I don't think so. I do love my music channels though. Especially the Body and Soul channel. It's nothing like chilling on your sofa on a rainy day listening to some GOOD music. It's even better if your man is there with you (lol).

CT4, that's what I always did. LOL
Soror,
I was thinking about getting digital cable, but it's not worth it. I was under the impression that you were getting ALL these different HBOs, Showtimes, Cinemaxes, etc. when you are NOT! DON'T THINK SO!
You see those same music channels YOU ARE PAYING for, just make you some slow jam tapes or CDs and call it a rap! Or, you can play that same music off your PC via the net. With all the CD players, stereos, CD-burner, DVD, etc. I have up in here, up in here, I don't need to give a cable company my $$$ TO LISTEN TO MUSIC. I will tell you and CT4 what I am doing, though but you'll have to email me.
HE HE! IT'S PRIVATE!
Shhhhhhhhhhhh!

We all must have been posting at the SAME time, SW14 and CT4.
Anyway, why 12 HBOs. HBO plays the SAME thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER? Instead of 12 HBOs, what about 3 of each premium channels OR all the premium channels and those "regular" basic channels for that $60+ a month?
I'd rather get a satellite.
BTW, CT4, I guess you do LOVE elephants!

Oddly enough, I have never watch Sex & the City or Oz or The Sopranos. Two of the 12 HBOs are in SPanish. You have not lived until you have seen LEAN ON ME in Spanish, Fair Eastside, Fair Eastsiiiiiiide
Anywho yes Sista AKA2D, I wish I could have a cornucopia of premiums like 2 of HBOs, 2 Cinemax, 2 Showtimes, etc. Yeah my HBO (200) and HBOP (201) are only 4 hours behind.
Once Soul Food goes off, no premiums for me.
For one, I have my computer upstairs and to get an extra digital box for a 13" TV is not worth it.
Yes AKA2D I am "froggy" over my ELEPHANTS

I had never seen "Soul Food" on Showtime...I really liked the movie, but hadn't watched the show until last night. I like how it's a decent continuation of the movie. I'm glad Cousin Faith's not in it...or is she?
Whomever said they have 12 HBOs...I can commisserate! HBO Latino is funny as anything...how many times did I see the season finale--Uncle Junior singing for 10 minutes in Spanish?!
Sap suckers! I have learned so many good terms/sayings from GC!

I was listening to the theme from "Prince of Egypt" the other day in Spanish! Ever notice how those channels are a bit ahead of the regular HBO? Also, we get an HBO, SHOW, & CINEMAX West - which is west coast programming. So, if you miss it the first time around, you can catch it 3 hrs later.
I'm still trying to figure out the High Density channels, though.
I can't live w/o my premiums. I hate watching "peasant" tv (silly nickname we came up with in college - no offense-). I can't stand commercials.
