Question health question...

ok, when should you be worried you are having heart problems, ie a heart attack?

lately, i've been having uber duber heart burn...acid reflux...all that. also, i've been having really really bad chest pains....this is currently the situation, and it happened once last week. since it comes and goes (eventually), i don't think it's honestly a heart attack. however, it is really painful. i feel like i a) have something stuck in my chest...like in my windpipe, but lower (think when you take a pill and it gets stuck 1/2 down), and b) that i have been beat up.

it's horrible it hurts....is it just bad indigestion b/c yeah i've not been eating so great, but not so bad, either. ????? it makes me sick to my stomach a lot, too.

is there a doctor in the house?

I don't believe you're having a heart attack. But perhaps it's stress? I know it sounds weird, but I also know you've been super stressed lately and had some other health problems going on. A lot of stress at once can cause heartburn and gas and such. Perhaps you could have an ulcer too? I'm not a doctor so I don't know. I recommend drinking lots of water to clense the system and taking vitamins (as always). If it gets worse I'd go see a doctor, but really, I think it sounds like something that will pass.

If all else fails, see an online doctor...webmd.com?!?!

true.....it's just happened twice. both times it lasted like 30 minutes...this one is still kickin. it's something i would be ok with going to the ER for, honestly, if i didn't in the back of my head think they'd send me home with a dumb-ass sticker saying, "can't tell difference btwn severe indigestion and a real medical problem.....thanks for wasting our time, miss diva"

ugh. it just really hurts......

taken some tums....we'll see how that goes.

Well, I basically agree with Hootie about it possibly being stress, but if you're really concerned, I wouldn't worry about how your doctor or folks in an ER would feel.

WHO GIVES A S#IT WHAT WE THINK??? GO TO A REAL DOCTOR TOMORROW!! Heavens, when it hurts this bad, just go. They don't laugh at people, I promise.

And don't try to diagnose it yourself. It could be dozens of things that you have never even heard of. Guessing only makes the stress worse.

I hope you feel better soon. Now go make an appointment! We would hate to lose a "Diva"

The comments about going to the doctor are correct. If you have insurance why risk it?

Also, if you are worried you could take 100mg of CoEnzyme q-10 a day. In studies it would prevent people from having heart attacks and heart failure.

so it went away but is back now. lovin life....looooving life.

i think i'll check it with moms in the am....she was an RN back in the day. in the past i have been somewhat of a hypochondriac, so now i tend to go in the opposite direction of thinking, "eh....it's probably nothing".....but i can't help but remember reading the consent form i had to sign b/4 getting that shot on tuesday saying, "if you have had chest pains, DO NOT get this shot"....

arg.....can anything else be wrong with me, pulease!?

To be honest, it doesn't sound like a heart attack. (I know, because I'm a hypochondriac too and I thought I was going to have one once, so I looked up all the symptoms. Yeah, it's sad, I know.) From all the nice websites I've looked at, the main warning signs of a heart attack seem to be a feeling of extreme breathlessness, like you absolutely cannot breathe no matter how much air you try to gulp into your lungs; a crushing pain in the chest; and dizziness, as well as tingling in your left arm. If you haven't had any of those things, I'd think it was something else. However, if you're worried, go to the doctor--one trip is definitely worth the peace of mind.

I had something similiar happen to me a couple of months ago. I had chest pains to the point that it felt like someone was punching me in the chest. I went to the Dr and my blood pressure was sky high. They still can't figure out what caused the sudden spike but they did put me on medication for a little while to get it to lower. After about 2 weeks it went away but was pretty scary while it was happening. The Dr thought it was stress related also but I don't really think I was stressed, But you never know.

Get better and have someone take a look at it.
