Report: Yankees deny interest in Maddux

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman denied he is actively attempting to sign Greg Maddux, according to various reports. Cashman reportedly said during a Monday conference call: "We are not involved with Greg Maddux."

The denial was in response to reports by The Bergen (N.J.) Record and WABC-TV in New York that the storied franchise was attempting to sign the veteran right-hander.
Throughout the off-season, rumors have swirled about which team Maddux might sign with. The Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, L.A. Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have all reportedly expressed interest in acquiring him.
