This last weekend, we had Founders Day.
One of the Brothers came up with the idea of having an Auction instead of a Keynote Speaker.
We also had our first Alum Ritual of which I was I had the honor of being the Candidate even though I graduated in 1967. So I was asked waht are you ging to do now that you have Graduated/ I said, guess I will lok for a Job, anyone here hiring!
Well, the Auction was more than I had expected. Rambo was the Auctioneer, his idea and I was the runner to take the items to the winners.
Had everything from the shirts, Badge, Lapel pins, Jono CD, Chiefs Tickets, Royals Tickets, G Brett Signed BaseBall, Cross & Cresent Golf Balls and last but not least Bricks! 3 of them.
Laff if you will, but Shawn Smith had little plaques made and glued onto them! LX Z 1966-2004 Founders Day.
I wanted one so bad, but the first one went for $150, 2nd went for $250, and the 3 rd went for $300!= $700.00!
Well, we raised @ 2000.00!
So, a little can bring a lot! If each Alum would donate something it can bring in a lot of Money for the Zeta!
This was our first, but will not be the last. I am already trying to pick things up for the next one!
Might want to try it! Everyone has something laying around that could go for aq good cause!
