Thumbs up Nick and Jessica on SNL

Did anyone else watch Saturday Night Live last night? I thought it was hilarious! It was by far one of the best SNL episodes in a long time!

YES!!!!! It was a very very VERY funny episode! Nick and Jessica were good in every sketch they were in....they mostly hammed it up, but it worked with the writing they had. Like, it was good that they sang in every other sketch, lol. Like the mexican restaurant where the man and woman were trying to reconcile....and the monologue when they did the whole donnie and marie/brady bunch type variety hour spoof.

But i must say....MAYA RUDOLPH IS A GENIUS. She can play anybody, any race, any accent, whatever....very convincing indeed was her portrayal of the African American grandmother buying "draws" for her "moosey goosey"....LMAO!

By the way, I also liked the episode with Kelly Ripa.

I thought it was funny episode too. Jessica over did it in a few scenes, but she wasn't too bad. I liked the Mexican restaurant sketch and the American Idol spoof. I agree, Senusret I, that Mya is one of the best cast members. Loved her JLo parody.

I was quite impressed with this episode. I have to say my favorite moment was Jessica's "Britney" impersonation for the American Idol sketch

I agree. Something tells me real Britney is not going to be too happy when she sees this.

I caught some of it, I was working so I was in and out. What I did catch was very funny.

As for Jessica being over the top, I think that's kinda the point of the show. The Mexican restaurant skit was hilarious! I think this was kind of a test for her to prove she can act, too. And to get ready for her TV show.

On a side note, I read an article in USA Weekend about her, saying she's probably one of the funniest women on SNL ever.

I'm really suprised that Nick and Jessica weren't the musical guests as well. They each could have performed their singles and it would have been much better than G-Unit (aka Gunit).

I completely forgot about the singing waiter sketch!

I have to give Jessica Simpson credit for being able to make fun of herself. If she were upset over people making fun of her comments, she'd be completely miserable. Good for her for being able to laugh at herself and use it to her advantage!

I loved the sketch that showed the fiftieth year of "Newly Weds" and Nick needs his eyes replaced from rolling them so much.
