Most Memorable Chi-O Songs/Chants
I noticed that Chi Omega songs were mentioned quite frequently in the "Most Memorable Songs/Chants" thread in the Rush Forum. We do have lots of songs that stick in your head!
What are your favorites?

Hair of Gold
She has hair of gold and her eyes are blue and her cheeks are rosy too. And on her chest she wears the crest of the X and the ole' horshoe. She ran around with every frat in town, many hearts were broken when she turned 'em down. She's the cutest girl in the whole wide world; she's a Chi Omega girl!
Now, when she pledged she was very, very young, but old enough to know. That the very best frat in the whole wide world was her very own ole' CHI-O!
(Older version): She finished school and married a fella', now she's knittin' booties of red and yella'. She's the cutest girl in the whole wide world; she's a Chi Omega girl!
(Newer version #1) She finished college and got her degree, now she's president of her company. She's the cutest girl in the whole wide world, she's a Chi Omega girl!
(Newer version #2) She finished college and got her PhD, now she's president of her own company. She's the cutest girl in the whole wide world, she's a Chi Omega girl!

Hey Jobellesis (love the name) -- I am a proud Psi Gamma (Mercer Univ., Macon, GA)
Speaking of songs...
Hey, how about this one (sung to the John Jacob Jingleheimer melody):
C-H-I-O-M-E-G-A...
Please say you'll be one too...
Whenever we are near...
You know good times are here
We're the C-H-I-O-M-E-G-A's!
Ya-Da-Da-Da-Da-Da
(First time-loud, clap) (Second time-softer, snap) (Third time- whisper, bounce)

Jobellesis, I have to agree. I miss singing Shades. We would sing it at our candle passes. My other favorite chant is the one we taught the PNMs:
Chi Omega, Chi Chi Omega,
C H I O M E G A, Chi Omega!
Chi omega, you'll agree, is the best sorority!
Chi Omega, go Chi O!

Definitely one of my favorites. Though we just sang it loud the whole time. A chat I really liked:
Chi Omega, Chi
Chi Omega, Chi
Chi Omega, Chi Omega, Chi Chi Chi
Rho, Beta, Upsilon, Eta, Sigma, Chi
Chi Omega*
Repeat from second Chi Omega, Chi)
* some chapters say their chapter letters here
I really like this one because my mom (Kappa) remembered the XO chapter at her school (Hillsdale) singing this all the time. She even knew it and was exctied when I learned it as a pledge!
I also like:
C with an H with an I
O with and M with and E
G with an A
Whadda ya say?
Chi Os the one for me!
HEY!

In regards to Hair of Gold:
We sang "She finished school, married a man, and now she's the president of IBM...."
One of my favorites:
SPARK
It only takes a spark to get a Chi O going
And soon all those around, will warm up to her glowing
That's how it is with our love
Once you've experience it
We share our love with everyone, we want to pass it on.
OR
These Are The Days (from 10,000 Maniacs)
These are the days you'll remember
Never before and never since, we promise
Will the whole world feel as warm as this
And as you feel it, you'll know it's true
That we, are sisters who are good for you
It's true
Each day our friendships, will grow and bloom in you
(That's just part of the song)

Hmm...not sure. I do recall this little ditty from the "old " days (when I was an active).
We are the joy girls of ole' Chi O
Hello, hello, hello, hell-o!
We want the whole wide world to know
The very best girls go Chi-O!
We love the cardinal
We love the straw
Skull and bones too,
Skull and bones too
Our white carnation is a sensation
We love it, we do
We love it, we do...

We used to sing a song like this:
Chi O
Everybody knows
Skull and crossbones
Cardinal and Straw
Weeee are Chiiiii O-me-eh-eh-eh-ga-aa
I suppose it could be a chant, too?

Was anyone around when Nationals pushed the Chi Omega Classic skits (I think Nationals pushed it).
The stars will always shine, the girls will always sing
As long as there is rush, there's always the real thing
Chi Omega classic is always the one
As long as there is fun, there's always Chi Omega!
he he he! Gotta love those cheesy songs!

Heck, they're all a little "cheesy." You just have to decide if you want cheddar or Velveta!

National Rush Team pushed us to switch to it when I was Rush Chair. Previously, we did a short skit in Round 2, Round 3 was the major skit round. We had done a line of girls all dressed differently and the chapter would chant:
"1-2-3-4 Tell me what this rush is for"
And a girl would turn around and say something. Like, one girl was in tennis whites with a raquet and she said:
"On the track, or at the court
Chi Os excel in every sport!"
Or a girl dressed in fancy clothes with shopping bags said;
"What's your major? What's your minor?
Do you appreciate the finer?"
Etc etc
So we switched to Chi Omega Classic that year and we weren't very good (sour grapes I think for "having" to change). Plus, we weren't the best singers! Luckily, the next year they made Round 2 philanthropy and you couldn't do skits!

We love the straw
Skull and bones too
Skull and Bones too
Our white carnation is a sensation
We love it we do
We love it we do HEY
In our hearts there's joy, there's laughter
Sorority life is just what we're after!
We love it so
