Ebay

I'm sure we all are a little sad when we see one of our GLO's pins on ebay, but, it happens. Several GLOs even have special groups of people who watch for pins, so they can keep them within the GLO (ie: Keepers of the Key).

Now, without any negative comments that could lead to any of us being sued for defamation, I'd like to suggest a list of ebay buyers who don't just buy pins from their own GLO or that of their spouse, but try to get a lot of them. I'm not talking about Suzie Sorority who collects one of each pin; I'm talking about the collectors that seems to try to buy EVERY pin that comes up for auction.

Both Alpha Delta Pi and Lambda Chi Alpha just lost a set of pins to the "bei group" and it's been reported that they seem to buy pins from several different organizations.

Again, please be careful what you say, as I have warned you! There's a huge difference between the casual collector and the deep pocketed collector who seem to buy up pins for spite.

If you'd like a list of GreekChat ADPis on ebay, we keep a list in our Forum (we try not to bid against each other). Do most GLOs do that?

We have a list of our ebay nicknames in our forum too. Several of us have "rescued" badges.

Question

honeychile, what group of LXA Badges are you talking about??

I and another Brother Keep a pretty close eye on ebay! I collect LXA items only while he collects Badges for a spefic purpose of which I cannot go into.
many Greek Badges on ebay and hope someone from that Organization will get it!

Skidmarks is a Collector and I bought a LXA Badge From him. White Gold, pearls, Diamonds and Saphires. Actually got a good price on it!

I found out one I was bidding on, I was bidding against a Brother of another Chapter and told his Brother to call him and tell him to quit bidding! He did and I told the seller I wanted it sent to him and it was! Everyone was happy!

Tom, this was a Lambda Chi Alpha pin that was chained to an Alpha Delta Pi pin - obviously, the original owners were pinned. It went quite high to the bei group.

I've had similar experiences on ebay, which I've related on another thread. I saw a bracelet that was only made one year, and was identical to the one I had won for Sister of the Year and somehow lost - same initials and everythign! ! I told the other sisters bidding on it my story, and they were happy to step back. The only problem was, the picture was a bit fuzzy, and the crest turned out to be a Kappa Delta crest! The seller was good about it, but I'm still missing my bracelet.

ETA: thanks, Jacquelyn!
