I'm doing a homemade version of composites for my own scrapbook. I'm just planning to take individual photos with my camera and create a page with our chapter "families."

As for houses, I am not aware of any chapters with houses. In most sororities, the houses were provided by alum funds. Since Beta Sigma Phi has no alum status, some major fundraising would have to happen for a chapter to afford a house.

There are two girls in a college chapter who sometimes visit GreekChat. According to their chapter website, several of the sisters live together in the same apartment complex.

My chapter sisters live on and off campus...all over the place. We are still lookng for the best meeting location.

Thumbs up Composites

I definitely would do a composite with my chapter. I think it is your individual decision. It would be great!

An inexpensive and cute idea for a DIY chapter composite for smaller chapters (12 members and under)

Craft stores usually sell picture frames with "School Years" mattings, 12 small holes surrounding 1 large hole. The idea is so that parents can put a picture of their child from each year in school in the small ones and their senior pic in the large hole. You can use these frames to put a picture of each sister in the small holes, and in the center put either a picture of the whole chapter, or the crest and chapter information (like on traditional composites). If you have less than 12 sisters, you can put some Beta symbols or art in the blank holes. Just use your imagination!

ETA- Heres a link to a sample of one of these school years frames http://www.mat-it.com/cgi-bin/ez-cat...y.cgi?4X363087

We do a composite of sorts...Once upon a time, we did a composite with a sister chapter, but they have since disbanded and we are left on our own. They were huge and very hard to do anything with since we technically do not have a house and merely live in apartments together (even though we're not required! ) What we do now is we bought a Sears Portrait Card, and we pay for the sitting fees and all of that stuff out of our membership dues. We all wear black and bring some yellow roses and I think it turns out very nicely. On our website, in the middle one or two of the pictures is from our Sears "Composite" http://www.kettering.edu/~betasigb/

The portrait card though, can be used throughout the year by any of the members so it really works out great for our graduation photos and everything.

Along with this, we also have a Historian office which keeps all sorts of old memory books and photo albums. For us, they date back to 1976'ish, before we were Beta Sigs, actually a few groups prior to being Beta Sigs It's really great to be able to look back and see the history of our chapter and remember where we came from!

Hope that helps

Welcome back, Krista! It's great to hear from you again. How many girls do you have returning to Beta Sigma Phi this term?

Currently we have 8 active members, however there is one member who is taking a term off, so there will only be seven of us next term. It looks like the new members and our current president though are putting a lot of work into our fall recruitment so we'll see!!! Hopefully it'll work out! Two of us will graduate in December and the one who is taking the term off will be back for the spring pledge term, but will be graduating after that.

Gonna be a busy fall, and I'm not sure how many girls are even registered for school this fall, but I'm hoping that it'll be a nice big number
