Thumbs up Lxa Web Site

Tried to check web mock up as Chad suggested, but could not get up!

His first email back to me!

Thank you for your input on my previous request is redesigning the
navigation of the website. I have had a chance to complete your responses
and design a mock-up of the new site navigation.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice"
/>

A few things to note as you view the menus:

1) There is no content in this mock-up, only navigation menus.

2) Anything marked with "(i)" will be for the private ("interactive")
area of the website.

a. I'm entertaining names for the Members Only section of the website

3) Ignore the "About ACEMenu" option, that is the tool I used to create
the dropdown menus.

4) You can click on any of primary areas (Guest, Alumni, Undergraduate,
Foundation, Properties, and Cross & Crescent) to view their menus.

5) I would also like some feedback on the "Contact Us" link. Do you
prefer the Organizational, Functional, or Topical arrangement of the staff?

6) If I may: Choose something category of information that you would
look for on the website, and see if the menus bring you there.

It is now prepared for your comment; please visit
<http://www.lambdachi.org/test/> http://www.lambdachi.org/test/ to view the
mock-up that I have designed.

I look forward to your feedback.

Thank you again for your assistance,

When told him it would not come up, his second email:

Tom,

"Would not come up"?? What was the error you received?? Could you open the
LCA homepage??
It is possible that our service provider was having a problem at the time
you checked.

I have not heard feedback from anyone not of staff, but they were all able
to view the page... It is hosted on our website so that should not be the
cause of your error. I'm interested to know why you are not able to view the
site, and if others are having similar problems.

Thank you for your efforts.
In ZAX,

Chad

It's still pretty vanilla at this point, but it'll be interesting if all the proposed links/pages come w/the new toy.

Try this link

http://www.lambdachi.org/test/

It is a different web site. The menu structure wil take some getting used to. I would hope that they would add a search function to facilitate quick access; it seems as if there would be a fair amount of wandering aboutthe web site in order find something specific, like a manual or a form. I found it under "Undergraduate" but it was in a sub-menu beneath that. A search function would be helpful.

Question

John, finally go on the Site. Thanks for the info!

I am still undecided about it!

It does give a different drop down linking but hard to really tell in the mock-up!

Dont know what the total graphics would be so for me, it is hard to try and place with regard to the old site.

My thought was maybe once you got into a section, then there would be links to certain areas in that particular thread! What are you guys thoughts??

Example:

Alum thread:

The pyramid, What is going on with Alum Chapters/Associations, etc.

Maybe I am trying to make to much our of it, but in checking other Orgs. web sites, some do not have very much at all!

The more We as Brothers Active and Alum can go to Site will help us all in the long run.

Need some input to send to Chad!

Thanks!

I would HIGHLY recommend renaming the Cross and Crescent link on the menu bar to "Publications" - and, have links and searches for the Cross and Crescent. Eventually to include all editions of the C&C back all the way to when it was "Purple, Green, and Gold" - I used to have access to a complete set years ago, and it was very educational and enlightening to see our history in that respect.

Still looks a little to vanilla at this point to give any other constructive criticism, but, I'll keep playing with it a bit...

Thumbs up

Bro to answer your question,

it is a mock up and will not lead to anything as of yet.

I am sure Badges are still on the Orig. Site. Yep I tried it too off of the mock up!

I dont think any of this will be impemented untill it is intergrated into the International Web Site. I am sure it will need some tweeking so to speak!

LXAAlum, I have given this a lot of thought also and wonder just how far they go back on the C & C or P, G, and G!

That could be a very tall order even though it would be Fantastic!!!!!!!

Bro. I have still pondered our decussion all night and today! Wow, still dont have a definitive answer other that what we talked about last night!

I guess time tells all!

"Yep I tried it too off of the mock up!"

How? I don't see a menu for it.
