Sending the 'Pokes packing...
Counting down to the end of the game... the score so far:
OU - 52
OSWho?!?!? - 9
Next week: The Texas A&M Aggies. Temporarily (and respectfully) withholding the 'Gig 'em' and 'WHOOP!' and reserving 'em for when they whip those Teasips from the People's Republic of Austin! We'll try and be gentle and not run up the score...

Jeez.
Chuck, you may want to make sure y'all have got lots of spare scoreboard lights on hand, cuz if y'all want, y'all could hang a century on us.
As much as i love my Aggies, this trip to Norman is going to be an absolute white wash.
Gig Em Ags, and i'll throw a Boomer Sooner out there next saturday night

Kitso, I'm going to be at the game next Saturday. My condolences to the A&M faithful.
I'd say that they wouldn't run up the score, but this will be another chance for White to make a case for the Heisman.
Ya'll are down this year and it sucks to see a team kicked when it's down. A&M'll bounce back and hopefully beat the heck out of the whorns.

Kitso,
My best friend is coming up from A&M next week for the game. Just for fun, we're wearing each other's shirts to the game... Maroon, Crimson, what's the difference? I'll root for both, as long as OU comes out on top this year.
I have to say
Gig 'em, Aggies!
Boomer Sooner!

Ok, so thats nto going to happen, so lets just forget about that nonsense.
That havign been said, I will be supporting A&M next saturday. (God, did I just say that???) Afterall, the Aggies are a Texas team, but then again, so is OU. Isnt 3/4 of their team from Texas high schools?

Who cares?
They didn't *choose* to play in Texas. Guess they wanted to win games, go high in the draft or something
I know, the chances of A&M beating Texas are slim/none.. but for Mack, you might consider it a big game. Could mean the difference between the Cotton and the Gallery Furniture-dot-com bowl. At least take the Ags in the points in this one. Maybe the Ags are looking past their entire season for a shot at the Horns
Seriously though, the Horns did great in their win against Nebraska. If Mack and company could get them up like that for all of their games, they might have actually had a chance in their other "big games" this year. At least he posted a win versus a top-10 team. So congratulations for that.

Once again with the disclaimer that on any given week any team can have a big letdown, I think Oklahoma's (The original OU is still in Ohio), came against Colorado. Lucky for the Sooners.
I feel sorry for those teams on the rest of their schedule.

Tom...
Okies do not live in Oklahoma, to be an Okie, you have to leave Oklahoma and move to California... Okie is an insult originating during the Dust Bowl... Please never call me that again, I am an Oklahoman.
And even if Ohio U. is the first OU, we're the ones that made the letters famous. And whose college website is at www.ou.edu, it's Oklahoma's. Ohio U? Ohio Who?

Oklahomans sometimes may call each other 'Okies' but they DO take offense at 'foreigners' calling 'em the 'O-word'.
A few years back the official symbol for one of the Grand Masters of Masons in Oklahoma was the Square and Compasses above the word 'OKIE'
BTW, www.ou.org points to the Orthodox Union kosher certification site, while www.ou.com points to a cybersquatter.
<-- perpetual Okie Mason

That's because those dipwads at Ohio State (You remember, OSU?) tried to copyright the word "Ohio," so ours is www.ohio.edu.
Oh, and thanks for the recognition as we celebrate our 200th birthday.

When the thread's about football, you can pretty much count on the fact that OU=Oklahoma.
They earned it.
Disagree? Let me know when Ohio U wins 7 NC's.

DA,
no disrespect meant, cuz i do think you're one of the posters on GC whose opinions i most value, but...
I kinda feel like you're spitting into the wind making your OU=Ohio U point on a thread whose context is obviously the OU Sooners Football team.
In fact, i think in any discussion where the topic is NCAA D1 football, it would be kind of expected that OU=Oklahoma. However, you are correct that OU means different things to different people all over. In any other discussion i would agree with you, but this is one instance where noone will EVER confuse Oklahoma with Ohio.
Congrats on y'all's 200th bday. A&M celebrated our 125th my 5th year there and we had a great time.
