Memories

Hey Alpha Chi's!!!

I should be working on a project right now, or studying, or getting ready for midnight madness, but I just wanted to know what your favorite memories of Alpha Chi are so far...

I'll start,

I think one of my favorite memories was during informal recruitment last year when my roomie was going through rush. Our president was running up our spiral stairs and fell up the stairs while we were setting up. And we just heard her yelp and I don't think anyone could stop laughing that night. (she was ok, of course, I don't think it would be funny if she wasn't). And then later on that night she was talking to Nicki, and was introducing her to someone and was like "this is Mary's "B" room mate" (Instead of Mary "B's" room mate) so from then on, I was called by my last name, or a variation of it.

Also, I think one of the sweetiest memories was when we got together last year to walk in the cancer walk in Evanston because one member's mother was in the hospital with cancer. We got shirts that said "suzie's sidekicks" and we started walking, but about halfway through, we decided to turn around and walk to the hospital instead and all the Alpha Chi's, and Suzie's friends and Family were in the lobby of the hospital and she came down in her wheelchair, we all went up to her and hugged her and talked and it was simply one of the most touching moments when she started to cry.

So start posting your's!

Always
Mary

I remember going on a road trip with some sisters for a recruitment workshop at the beach. I got my first speeding ticket ever on the way home. My sisters saw me through the tears, and made me laugh about the whole thing. My nickname was forever "Speedy" for my three passengers!

I can't elaborate too much, but one of my fondest memories is initiation. Just hearing, seeing and being a part of our beautiful ceremony brought everything together for me. I really felt the bond of Alpha Chi Omega at the end of that day.

Being out of school for so long, I really just cherish the little things I took for granted then...walking around campus with sisters - going to class, to the cafeteria, out for an evening of fun, living with my roomie on the hall, etc. Always striving to make myself, my sorority, and my community better. Always having someone there to play with, cry with, study with...I suppose that is part of my cherished memories of Alpha Chi. The camaraderie, the love, the sisterhood and the bond.
