Unhappy Zeta Hazing investigation

I have just heard that the Zeta at LSU is underinvestigation for Hazing!

As to Az.SU, I would like to find out more on this before any decisions are made!

It is damn Strange that both Zetas get accolades and get investigated and Their Charter Yanked, ASU, but looking at LSU!

When as We as Memebers get an accounting of the circumstances?

Do we have a say in the accounting of what has happened, or is it a big secret?

Why do We as LXA do so many things right, and things go so wrong?

I have many questions! Who gives us the answers?

I can't speak for FSU but in Florida most of the chapters who win "awards" from INT are the chapters with the largest hazing, alcohol, and other risk management problems. This is just one more problem I have with INT. Our chapter has taken the time to get our act together but because we are small we have been on INT's hit list for a while...The ELC system just doesn't let INT know how a chapter really is...

Yep M, it makes one wonder what the prioritys are?

Here is a Zeta who won the most Awards and gets Charter Pulled,(ASU), and a Zeta, who just got the Highest Award from the School and has a Single word designation, LSU!

Now, where does the fault lay?

I do not have any connection to find out what happened at ASU, but I did email Kip Zurcher on that one!

Emailed LSU Alum to try to find out what is going on! May take a while because of the Mon. Holiday.

If a major Chapter has a Problem, try to find out the problem, correct it and move onwards. Not go in and Take the Charter unless it is a dead bang deal. But once again, more information is needed to fill in the blanks!

PS: Hope Jono is having a ball at F D BN this weekend!

No information from Indy

I'd have to echo these thoughts. Clearly the General Fraternity lacks the ability to share everything with all of us - that would lead to information overload. but when a significant event occurs we need to be informed about it. A tardy notice in the C & C (if it still exists) won't do the job.

Those of us that work with an undergraduate chapter can put that information to good use; it can also help stamp out rumors. I have an associate who is thinking about leaving Fullerton for ASU, but will there be a chapter for him to join. We've seen the rumors here that it is closed, but what (to quote bro. Paul Harvey) is the rest of the story?

Eric Richards has the e-mail addresses for the most every High Pi. A weekly note would do the trick and it could take all of ten minutes to compose. However, if it had to be vetted by all the departments at 8741 Founder's Road then it would not get out the door at all. Who knows, that may be what is preventing the folks at Indy from sharing their thoughts with us.

There does seem to be a lack of transparency here that needs to be addressed.

Flame retardent BVDs now donned!

This is the Problem and is so damn frustrating.!

The people who work with undergrad Chapters never seem to know what is going on no matter what!

We have been trying to get Our Hi Pi set of for some time: Initiated 2 years ago! I have followed up several times but as of just recently, Hi Pi still not listed!

Have been putting feelers out to a contact from LSU, an Alum who is well thought of and LXAAlum to see if any of us can find anything out about both ASU and LSU!

Facts, only the true facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re: small chapters / INT recogn

I have to disagree with the "small chapters don't get
recognized." My chapter is small (currently 30 members),
and has rarely gone over 50 members, although it did
in the mid 90's.

In the past 10 years, we've won 3 Grand High Alpha awards,
and last year INT nominated us, and we were awarded,
"outstanding chapter of any fraternity" award at NIC.
(Unfortunately, this never appeared in the cross/crescent )

I know Union Univ. chapter, a small school/chapter in
TN, has also done very well the past few years. Maybe
things are just different in Florida

Kappa-Omega 958

P.S. We're only 30 members, but still the largest on campus

What!? I'm NOT well thought of?

Working leads on my end. Not much known right now. Looks like the LSU deal was blown out of proportion from the little I've managed to uncover - if it's any consolation.

Never helps when even something that does turn out to be minor makes headlines, though...let's hope they get a handle on the PR aspect and get very proactive, else they'll suffer the same fate as other chapters accused yet never "convicted" of wrondoing, yet closed just the same due to bad publicity....

Thumbs up

From what I am getting, it sounds just like that, out of proportion.

Is sounding better and things should be getting back to normal very soon!

We can only hope so for the betterment of LXA!
