Pulling Together
Hey Everybody,
You would not believe what has happened. for the last 5 days I have been in complete darkness. I had no lights, no heat and no water. An ice-storm hit my town and boy did it do some major damage. It got down to as low as 15 degrees. My children and I weere freezing, but we lived. I just received power about an hour ago. We have over 2500 AP&L workers here and more on the way. I have no money-no food but I am still laughing. Don't get me wrong I've had my crying moments but right now I am laughing. Eventhough this is an awful time for my community, we have really pulled together. Blacks, whites, hispanics, everybody-you wouldn't believe it. We've shared candles, tissue, blankets, food etc... When I tell you that the color barrier had to rest-you better believe it. I believe the governor has declared my state a natural disaster. I just wanted to let everybody know that I've really missed you. You guys are just like family-hell you are family. Soror Catwoman, I am so sorry for not emailing you back, but the devastation here was unbelievable. Well I have quite a bit of work to do. My place is a mess. Please, please, please pray for us. We still have over 20,000 people in the dark. We've also received news that more bad weather is around the corner and could possibly undo everything that has been done. We are not equipped for snow and ice. I love you guys and I'll talk to you later on tonight.
P.S. I waited in line for over 2 hours just to get gas.
Skeeeya later!
