Hi, all. I've got a question for the ladies in NPHC sororities (or for anyone else who happens to know the answer). If it's none of my business, please feel free to tell me so! As we all know, both IFC and NPHC fraternities refer to their members as "brothers." Likewise, NPC sororities refer to their members as "sisters." I was just wondering how the term "sorors" for members of NPHC sororities came about. Like I said earlier, if this is something that I don't need to know, please tell me so (and forgive me for my ignorance). Also, if there is a thread on this particular subject, just point me in that direction, so you all don't have to answer the same question twice. I was just wondering if there was a reason for the term "soror" or if someone along the line just liked it better than "sister," and the name just stuck.

Thanks!
