Look through some of the other pages in this forum. I know we had a discussion about it awhile back. Try page 3 or 4.

I made a cute pin box for box of my Lil Sisters. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a paper mache box and decorated it with press on rose stencils. Then I made a pillow to put inside.

I have a cute poem that my Grand Big gave me, but it's hidden away somewhere. I'll look for it and will PM it to you if I find it.

There are so many things you can do for Big/Lil gifts. Our chapter has some things that everyone gets: decorate a candy jar and fill it with candy, decorate a corkboard with their name and arrows, something to reflect their personality, last spring I got a silver pin box with our crest on the top and my lil's name and initiation date on the bottom. If you have any questions about anything or need more ideas just PM me. Congrats on your first lil and Good luck!

gifts

This is a lot of work but fairly inexpensive if you keep it simple. In our chapters the bigs always make scrapbooks for their littles. Most girls put a lot of work into them but they alawys turn out waay cute in the end. We also cut costs by not buying actual scrapbooks. What we do is buy a binder, padding, and a fun material fabric from jo anns or michaels (craft stores), what you do is fuse the padding (make sure you use the iron on kind!) to the part of the fabric that will go on the front of the binder then glue the padding/fabric thing to the binder (covering eveyrthing but the binder rings). So what you end up with is a totally cute scrapbook! Then you can buy those clear page protector things (you can buy like 100 at a time) and use regular colored paper for the sheets and just put your finished pages in the protectors and in the binder. It also really handy for when rush comes up you can easily take out the pages that arent that cute and leave all the sisterhood ones!!! If you have anymore questions aobut this (i tried explaining it the best i could) please PM me!
Also some families buy the small little paddles, decorate the front and then write the family tree on the back. Those are always cute but a lil pricey depending on how many letters and things you are buying for the front.

Sorry to crash on your thread but I have some cute ideas for gifts. What you could do is get a plain clear candy jar, decorate it if you want or not, and then fill it with M&M's or any other candy that's in Pi Phi colors. Also, you could just get your lil stuff that she likes. I collect yellow rubber duckies, and when I was pledging my Big practically SHOWERED me with ducks!!!

Hi! Sorry to crash your board, but I had an idea!

When I was pledging my nickname was "Cricket" (long story) but anyway my big went out and got a lil statue of the cricket from Mulan for me. Now, this was kinda expensive, but the idea is that if she has a nickname, or something she likes that's individual to her (like the yellow duckies!) or to her and you together (Like I met my big in he fencing club, so I put foils on the "paddle" I made for her) Those kinds of things are really sweet and specific to you two together....

Also you can make letters for you both out of the same fabric. I did that for my lil.
