life can really suck...
what do you do when someone you love is in so much pain (emotionally/mentally) and there is not a thing you can do about it?
it is hard to talk about my situation, but can anyone tell me about theirs?

Just be there when you need them. Thats about all you can do. Dont' judge them, just let them vent to you when they need to.
Just be the best friend that you can be, support is the best thing in the world.

My cousin lost a baby. She said she got soooo tired of people telling her how sorry they were. She told me sometimes all she wanted was someone to listen to her, but not really comment. It's hard to understand. Just be there for your friend.

all you can do is listen. try to help them when they ask for advice. take the anger that they throw out. tell them it's ok to be angry.

A thought.
You know, and, I guess this depends on your religion...but you might try talking to God. He's helped me through a lot, not to mention has always given me courage and the right words to say...or not to say...and when to know the difference. Reminds me of the Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.
Like everyone said...just listen. Or...just be.

im scared to break something. instead, i turned up limp bizkit's 'break stuff' on high volume while driving my car. got strange looks for the other drivers, but it tempoararily drowned out my troubles.
i was talking to my friend (well ex boyfriend) last night, and his voice just sounded heartbreaking. he is going through so much stuff right now. it is the reason we broke up, cause of the crap he is going through. he is the one who pushed me away. he knows i still want to be there for him. we are still really close.

Just recently, my mom's friend was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. I am friends with her daughter and son. I want to email the daughter, but I have difficulty in choosing my words. How do I offer her comforting thoughts?

smiley, sometimes all you can do is listen, and be a shoulder to cry on. Believe me, it is appreciated.
CatStar, sorry to hear about your mom's friend. I'd send a hand-written card or letter rather than email, though.
