Toni Braxton Show in VH1
Has anyone seen it? I can't remember what the exact name of the show is, but I saw it today before work. I really enjoyed the show, but I couldn't help comparing Toni's show with Brandy's on MTV. I felt like compared to Brandy and her husband, Toni/Keri Lewis just seemed so mature and connected as husband/wife and parents. I wondered whether that was b/c of their age or b/c they probably thought hard and long before getting married.
Any thoughts?
If there is a forum on this topic already, I'm sorry. I did a search and couldn't find anything on it.

I saw the show too. The children are so cute! I'm glad Toni is getting back on her feet. I'm tripping off that new MTV reality show "Newlyweds" with Jessica Simpson and her husband Nick from 98 degress. Jessica has been a spoiled child! Can't wait to see the next episode on Tuesday night.

not to hijack my own dang thread but:
that "newlyweds" show is a trip. jessica simpson is so childish and bratty. i couldn't believe how she was acting about taking out the trash and washing clothes. i mean she actually squealed when she mistakenly poured water from the vase on the floor. "don't we have a mop or that thing you use with the spongy thing that soaks up water?" what was that about?
and she's a confessed brat. did she and nick TALK before they got married or did they just exchange vows so they could get their freak on?
Ok back to our regularly scheduled thread...

Here's what I understand about there relationship. They went together for about 2 years or so, then in 2001 she broke it off with him. I think she said that she needed to see if he was the only one or something. He's like her only real boyfriend, so I can imagine it can be scary if your first "real" partner seems like the one. But after the events of 9/11 she really began to regret breaking up with him. At that point she says she knew he was the one. Now fast foward to the marriage. Her dad's a minister. She's very devout in holding true to no sex before marriage. I don't even think they ever lived together. Now I'm not saying everyone has to do it. For some it is a sin. But a positive aspect of living with someone before marriage, is the fact that you get to see all of there idiosyncracies. They didn't have that luxury. Having said that, they need to grow up. If they decided not to live together before marriage, then they must realize they have to get use to living with each other and all that that comes with. And yes, Jessica needs to realize that her mommy and daddy are not gonna be there to wipe her ass anymore. Even though, we've seen way too much of her parents and it's only been 2 episodes. So that's my take.

I noticed that her parents were way too visible during the last episode, NUPE. Her mom was offering to wash/fold their clothes or get a maid for them and her father was like we can just hire someone to help clean... I felt like sticking my head in the TV and saying "How about you both leave and let this girl grow up. I mean she's married, dammit."
After seeing her parents on the show, I totally understood why jessica is the way she is. I also wonder whether her parents beaucoup dollars. Her father offered to get them a maid like he was rolling in dough or something.

I didn't realize that they were going to show so much during the show. I also didn't realize that she was having difficulties with Arista . . . again. I thought that all of the problems she was having were worked out, but it was interesting to see Aaliyah's uncle handling Toni's business interests. I did know that she was in AIDA on Broadway -- too bad I saw it without her last year.

Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah's uncle, is CEO (I think) of Blackground Records, who Toni is now working for. Arista has fallen off since LA left.
LOL at Nick and Jessica. She did seem very childish. And I think she got married to get her freak on..honestly. When you get married, aren't you supposed to let go of childish things?
I saw the last 20 mins of the Inside/Out with Toni, and I really liked how she and Keri were with their kids. She seemed very calm and collected. The dr cracked me up though, when he thought Keri was Puffy, lol!

I saw that show as well and I was totally impressed with how Toni and her husband manage their business. She is not one to back down and I totally agree with her stand on being mother and singer!!

My Honey and I watched the show and I was reluctant to see it at first. AFter the first like 5 minutes I was in to it and really enjoyed seeing the show.
The interraction Toni and Keri have with their children and how they handle their business is great. I liked Toni's expression when Keri was in NYC looking for an apartment for them and he told her about one in the Trump tower for $50,000...that was funny to me. I was talking to the T.V. like, hey there's a building on E. 34th Street, with apartments for like $3,000 - $5,000 a month saving you guys thousands of dollars. But when you got it, you got it!
I got a bit squirmish during the delivery and couldn't watch it, but listened to Diesel being born.
I would like to see Toni in Aida before she leaves Broadway.
I've never seen that Newlywed show and from what I hear about it, I don't want to either.

I agree BUT I'm sorry (quick hijack)..who names their child 'Denim' and 'Diesel'?
Before Diesel was born I was thinking "What is she going to name him, Corduroy?"
I'm glad she left Arista. What a bunch of A-holes.
