Question stealing from other chapters

i would like to know if it is just my chapter or if it is alot of chapters, but when we go to visit other chapters we try to "steal" things like trophies, or pattles. for instance me and a couple of the brothers took a road trip to UAB in birmingham alabama, noone was home and the door was unlocked, so we took a trophie, paddle, and a jolly rogers flag, we also left a note so they know who took it, we do it more or less to get other chapters to come visit.

Yes it is a traditon with alot of the older chapters. But be careful some chapters that are new or restarts don't know the tradtion and will go to ihq about it. It happened to my chapter once. All we had to do was return the stuff, but before that some of the guys from that chapter came to visit but wanted to beat ass. Brotherhood at its best. Some people just don't understand traditions they would have gotten it back no matter what it was never meant to be bad.

yeah i agree totally, our chapter used to bring the stuff back if there was a "Special" party just for the brothers, that gives us the opportunity for another road trip, and a chance to party with other chapters. one of the cooler things that we have "liberated" (thats what we call it because you dont steal from brothers) is a coors lite TKE digital clock.

every chapter I have been to have threatened proscution is we even thought about it.....in their words once told me " We are adults we dont appericate our history taken how would you feel if someone broke into your parents house and took something and left a note, because stealing is stealing and no matter how you look at it, its still a crime" and I couldnt say it better myself

it's cool, depending on what you steal. When we first got a Top Teke plaque, Troy State Tekes came down and stole the tiny crest emblem off of it. That = not cool.

Stealing a minor school trophy, or a recognition plaque, or a paddle, that is one thing, but stealing something from another chapter that they worked hard all year to earn is not very cool.

But yeah, stealing certain things is tradition. One of our brothers stole something from a chapter in michigan, like a ber mirror or something. We all signed the back of it and told them to keep their doors locked and mailed it back to them. We also stole a signed Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders picture from another chapter, not sure which one though

i am a teke at troy state, but we dont a crest emblem, i agree that that is uncalled for, if it was one of our older guys i am sorry, we are currently in the process of weeding out some guys that have caused problems for years so if it was them i am sorry, but we dont have it nemore

I thought we had out grown stealing

In these days of political correctness and school and media scrutiny, we need to quit stealing/borrowing stuff from other chapters.

If you want XYZ to come visit you, invite them or their pledge class.

Stealing stuff from TKE chapters - that's the opposite of brotherhood.

i do agree that times have changed in terms of political correctness, but in my opinion brotherhood goes above that, i sure would mess around with my biological brother.

it's cool lambda zeta. it happened before i got there, it's what i heard from the older guys ion my chapter.

I'm still all for stealing stuff, so long as it's minor and not major. it's a fun game so long as everyone involved knows it's all in good fun. If you're stealing with the intent of pissing someone off, then it's not cool.
