collegiate gifts
as a collegiate, what kind of gift would you have liked/ or have been given and liked from your advisors? is there something that you wouldn't want at all?

After initiation, our advisor gave us a copy of "Picture a Girl." It was printed on nice paper, with a pretty scalloped edge, and tied with a pink ribbon and a personal message from her written in the upper left corner. It wasn't a terribly elaborate gift, but we all loved it--especially since some of my pledge sisters didn't know the words!

we never got gifts from our advisors, but i did get one really cool thing at Ohio State Day this year. it was called Discovering the stories of our lives through reflections on THE CREED OF PHI MU i think it was by an alumna of Delta Iota, but i'm not positive. Anyway, it has a line of the creed on each page and has different things in your life to reflect on that correspond iwth each line. its just a little booklet bound at the top with pink ribbon. it's definitely one of my favorite phi mu things.

gifts from advisers
When I was a chapter adviser, I gave small gifts of welcome to the new initiates after each intiation.
Something along the lines of a mug with a poem and personal note for each.
