APO/GSS relations with NPHC
Hello to all of you
I figured rather than to repost on the same thread (NPHC How do you feel about Non-NPHC BGLOs), to start a new thread since the original thread primarily revolved around Alpha Phi Omega and Gamma Sigma Sigma anyway.
I would like to call your attention to a website that has addressed this matter AND has previously posted on Greeksource.com when it was in the old format
Go to members.tripod.com/~JBSkeet/IndexFrame.html
From there, click on Page 2.
He has three discussions, one of which is called "Clearing the Air", where he and a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha discusses issues between APO/GSS and NPHC. It is IMHO a VERY good discussion, and may clear an misconceptions one group may have with the other or vice versa. BTW, No Jerry Springer drama here.
Another section involves an "essay" he posted on the old "Meetgreeks.com" which if I remember correctly created a LOT of controversy on the site. To read, click on "Till The Day I Die".
I hope this helps build better relations b/t APO/GSS and NPHC.

Rain Man, what exactly are you asking in this post. Are you wondering how NPHC orgs treat AyPhiQue and Gamma Sig? Well I happen to be a member of both Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. I haven't experienced any sort of negative vibes about my membership APO. In fact I know one of the bruhs from my chapter who's a Sigma now. There's no hard feelings either way. I'm sure that there are a lot of Greeks who have been in both orgs. We both are here to serve the community so there shouldn't be any beef between orgs. who have the common goal of SERVICE TO HUMANITY! Now if you wonder do some NPHC Greeks get mad cause at lots of chapters we have a call? I don't know. We where founded on December 16, 1925 at Lafeyette College in Easton, PA. We've been around a long time. From what I'm told we have if not the largest, one of the largest student organizations in the world with well over 200,000 members. I joined because it provided me diversity in service. APO is a free for all. Alone in my chapter, I've done so many different types of service unimaginable. I didn't join APO to get respect. APO is going on 75 years this year. It's been around awhile and it's not going anywhere. I've had a good experience, and I have nothing but love for both of my orgs.

This issue is interesting to me, since the Alpha Phi Omega chapter on my campus is almost entirely comprised of Asian-American students.
