Road Trip

I know this is kinda early but being bored at work and have nothing else to do I've been trying to plan my upcoming fall road trip.

I currently live in Boston but I am driving out to California in Sept to move all my stuff out to Pomona where I'll be going to grad school. I have two fellow sisters who have told me they would go with me so when I told a friend of mine this he said that we might be able to stay at ADPi houses along the way (apparently a bunch of phi psi brothers road tripped and just stayed at houses). This wasnt something that had crossed my mind but I thought I'd look into it. Has anyone road tripped before and stayed at houses? I'm sure I'll have to get in touch with presidents and such in order to figure out if its ok with them. Just trying to get some feedback.
