Re: Pictures for Recs & Recruitment

I am just a Midwesterner, but...

The outfit you described sounds perfect.

3x5 snapshots are probably fine, because the girls are just using them to know who you are in advance, not to judge you.

You can definately use the same picture for each one.

Head and shoulders would probably be the most helpful.

As far as glasses/contacts, if people have that much trouble with it, I would suggest that you pick one or the other and be consistant throughout recruitment, and send a picture that reflects this choice.

AB - When I was choosing pictures for recs, I too had the same problem. I also wear glasses when I don't wear contacts. Since I sent my pictures and resume by email, I scanned 2 pictures, one with and one without. I included both under the same attachment. I plan on just wearing contacts through recruitment, but as all you gals with contacts know, they can be unpredictable and can sometimes cause problems (I've had a contact manage to fold itself in a JOB INTERVIEW. Not to mention if you get something in your eye, your eye starts watering, your mascara runs, you have to excuse yourself to fix your contact...) So just in case something happens, I'll be prepared to wear my glasses. I would want to make sure I could be placed from my picture, and I have had problems with this too when I forgo the contacs. I'd send both.

Wow! That is a terrific idea to have glasses on/contacts in pictures.

Your outfit sounds adorable, but the Viking costume sounds better

I agree. I wore my contacts for my freshman face book picture... then I got an eye infection, so I had to wear glasses during rush, and I know I confused some people.

HAHA, can you fill out a fake one and send in the Viking costume picture?

In any event, good luck! Your outfit sounds very nice.

I think DeltaBetaBaby's advice sounds just right. It would probably be better to stick with either glasses or contacts throughout rush, but as a contact-wearer I know how tempermental they can be sometimes.

I think its a good idea not to send Senior pictures, also. Reasons?

1)My senior pictures were taken in July before my senior year began...needless to say, buy the next August, I looked a bit different.

2) Tons of girls will be sending their senior pictures. A different one will make you easier to remember than all those girls in the black drapes I sent a Dance recital head shot that my parents loved(No, I didn't have insane stage make-up on...its actually a picture of me i like!)

I think you should post a Viking picture with your letters on the helmet as a way of telling us who you joined.
