Yahoo
I am in DIRE need of some help.
I keep tryin to login to Yahoo, and for some reason my mom's AOL screen name and password keep popping up. When I erase them, and put in my Yahoo account name and password, it keeps sayin invalid password. I've tried logging into 3 different accounts and none will work. But for some reason they work fine on AOL, but you can't update geocities on AOL's browser.
I need help ASAP because I need to update my chapter's website, my own website, and create our Panhel website. I've done everything I can think of to going into control panel and messing around with the passwords and crap like that and NOTHING is working. Literally banging my head on my desk right now.
Computer geniuses-- should I just uninstall Internet Explorer from my computer and then re-download it? This is so important!

I think I might be able to help you.
Really, the best thing for you to do is uninstall AOL and get yourself an ISP that doesn't suck (sorry, I just hate AOL), but in the meantime:
1) Minimize the AOL window. When done correctly, you'll find that you're looking at your desktop.
2) Open another IE window, ignoring the AOL window completely and just using this as your internet connection.
3) Go to Yahoo and type in your username and password.
If this doesn't work, it's possible that your mom checked that little box that said something like, "Remember this username and password and use it for everything I do online." Bad. That can give you security issues. You can change that via the preferences on AOL, I would think. You don't use anything like Gator, do you?
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

Get Netscape.
Seriously ~ what KappaStargirl suggested should do it. If not, try clearing your cookies (in IE go to Tools -> Internet Options and click Delete Cookies) and then try again. If that still doesn't work, try Netscape; Netscape and IE store their cookies in separate locations.
DON'T try to uninstall IE if you're running AOHell. My husband tried that once when I was away... fried my hard drive

Thanx for the help. Actually it was signing in perfectly fine on AOL but not on IE. I ended up just deleted IE and downloaded the newest version from microsoft.com and it works perfectly fine now !

I used to have AOL and I was able to get into my Yahoo/Geocities account with no problem. However, when I decided to upgrade my Geocities tools from page wizard to page builder on AOL, it was a little harder to upgrade and it took longer to load. Also, I think the problem could have been the security settings are too high, reduced them to regular.
If you had problems with getting into Yahoo because it only recognizes your mom's AOL info and not yours. It could be and I agree with KappaStargirl that your mom must have checked that box to remember her login info for everything she does online. I had a similar experience when upgrading to a new version of AOL when I accidently clicked on a box making AOL my sole ISP. Even if I wanted to open IE, it would come out as AOL. Interestingly, the problem was remedied after I did system recovery after my computer got a virus (I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS METHOD TO ANYONE!)
I am glad that whatever you did with the computer is working fine!
