delta zeta!!!

hello fellow sisters....i just wanted to introduce myself. my name is may and im a founder of the delta zeta chapter in camden, nj. my girl jules aka dahlin sent out an email to our chapter introducing us to this site. i think its wonderful that we can talk to different chapters. she has already explained about our chapter and some of the things we had to do to get chartered. it was nuts!!! haha but it was a great time and now i have 36 lovely sisters that i adore!!!!!

anyway....thats about it for now....i have to go fight w/a kappa now and tell him that we are greek even though we arent part of divine 9.

Awesome! So were you guys a local sorority first? How hard is it to charter a chapter? Welcome to my newest sisters!!!

no, we weren't a local first. it took about a year to receive our charter. the hardest thing was getting 30 girls interested enough to join and stay interested until we were pinned. our campus is a commuter campus so everyone just comes to class and then goes home. plus, we're located in camden city which has a terribe reputation for being a really bad place to be, especially for women and most of our activities were at night so no one was in class but no one wanted to stay in camden past about 5pm. but, the effort was worth it and now more and more girls on campus are seeing us wearing our letters.....we got our jackets about 2 weeks before the semester ended!!!.....and we are hoping that the fall rush will be a good one. well, im off to school to finish up some housing stuff and hopefully see some sistahs!!!!

Good job getting so many people intreasted on a commuter campus! Brooklyn College is also commuter and we have problems getting girls...our fall rush is a very important one for us if anyone has any ideas, please send me a private message!

I know it's cliche' but just be together... i know at our campus, most people just go to class and leave.. but it's just because they don't know what there is out there.. most orginazations aren't visible .. they meet behind closed doors etc.. they need to see that our organization offers not just the orginazation itself, but a great group of girls that arent only great friends, but a support system for whatever curve balls come your way..... (god knows how much we've used that system!!

) so get out there, have fun, be out in public, and MAKE everyone wish that they too were a Sig Delt!

We are together and most students are aware of the GLO's (it's kind of hard not to notice them!!) but it seems that everyone has more intrest in the other two nationals (AEPhi and Alpha Xi Delta) or they go to one of the 3 locals on campus.....we really need a good fall rush and I am worried about not getting it!
