Question Lessons you learned from Mom

Today is Mother's Day, so why not share a little about your mom? What is the most important lesson you learned from her?

that no matter how "uncool" she was during high school, during college she can become a great friend.

What my mother taught me....

My mother taught me so much and that I impart it onto my son daily.

A few weeks ago i had to give an eulogy for my grandfathers funeral and in it i made metion that what he passed down to my mother is now apart of my life and that was to follow the golden rule,"treat other for how you wish to be treated". To me that has always been foremost in my life. She has also imparted onto me that standing up for yourself and your beliefs is majorly improtant and don't let anyone try and change you. lastly , something my mother taught me early on .....Sharing is not necessarly a bad thing!so play nice and share your toys! ( or so she said the first day of kindegarten).

Happy mothers day to all my Alpha Phi sisters who are mothers and the mother in all of us! I am still waiting at 7:45 at night to i get my 5 minutes of peace and quiet! Though my 3 yr old has impeccable taste... a pair of shoes and a cool purse that i had no inkling about!heheheheheh and a Starbucks card!

aoe,
laura

The most important lesson my mom taught me:

Never let people tell you "you can't...". If I hadn't listened to her, I would have never taken a chance on becoming an Alpha Phi, moving to a new country, and forging my own path in life.

I love you Mommy!

By example my mom taught me the importance of friendship and laughter.

She showed me a word -- whether one of encouragement, a compliment, whatever -- can change a life.

She showed me the importance of education and good manners.

She showed me the meaning of unconditional love.

Most of all, I think, she set a shining example for me to follow if I one day have children of my own.

I know we have the same name and everything, but this is really creepy b/c my grandfather passed away the week before last and I gave the eulogy at his funeral and I said something very similar. I am so sorry about your loss and hope that you and your family are doing well.

My mom taught me so much that I can't pick a single lesson as the best lesson I learned from her. She is the smartest, strongest and most beautiful woman I know.

My mom always taught me it's always good to be honest with others because then you can easily be honest with yourself.

She also taught me to stick up for myself but pick my battles and when someone hurts me never let them do it twice.

Boys are bad... very bad... never trust any of them... not even my own father!! (well because to her he's a boy to me he's a daddy )

Always wear clean underwear you never know
