Question Chapter Association Ideas?

Hey all...

I've recently taken over the Alumni Relations position for our Chapter Association (our President was doing everything) and I'm looking for some ideas.

Here's the scoop: From what I know, our Chapter Association was up and running during the 1980's. It petered out in the early 90's and was re-established in 1997. The collegiate chapter closed in 2000, so the only thing we've got left is the association.

We've got about 120 "dues-paying" members (which means they'll send us money when we're desperate)

I'd really love some ideas to try and keep us a little closer-knit. Keep in mind that there's no real center of sisters -- while we can safely say that most of us are in the United States, we're scattered all over the place.

Currently, we have a bi-annual newsletter which includes some Phi Mu news, some Association news, and then an Alumnae news section (which is everyone's favorite) -- what else have other people done to try and keep their chapter members feeling like they're still connected?

our chapter is having a reunion this summer where women from all 7 decades of Delta Delta are planning to meet. I think we're actually going to be forming a chapter association.

one idea i have is to let people know who to contact to get involved with an alum chapter in their area. you could take a look at where sisters live and post a few links to chapters there....and point people in the direction of how to find out where there is one in other areas.

maybe you could have people send in their favorite memories.

one of the girls i graduated with (with the help of a few others) collected e-mail addresses and started a list-serv of sorts. there are some actives on the list, but i'm pretty sure it's mostly alumnae. anyway, there are several sisters on the list, and it has served not only as a way to reconnect with those we knew from our collegiate days, but also to plan sisterhood type events and learn what's going on with our actives.

added bonus: a couple of the (alum) sisters just got an alumnae website up and running for my chapter.
