Graduate Chapter

Hello ladies. I am interested in becoming a member of a graduate chapter and have expressed interest to a family friend who is a graduate member. I've done research, but would like to know if there is a book I can purchase for my personal reference. I need to know the history in order to proceed on to the future and that's why this is important. I want to know as much as I can being that I'm expressing interest.
