Great article in our paper about Greeks!
It is very rare for our campus paper to publish anything about Greeks, and when they do, most of it is usually negative, so I am very excited about the article in today's paper. Congratulations to Delta Sigma Theta for organizing the event!

Sunday night, NT's Greek community gathered to bowl and mingle with other fraternities and sororities at the 2003 Bowling Mixer.
The mixer began at 10 p.m. at the Brunswick Varsity Bowl near the Golden Triangle Mall and ended at midnight.
Ada Yovonie, president of the Zeta Eta chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, said the event was the first time a mixer in Denton was able to unite groups from four local Greek councils: the Panhellenic Association, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Interfraternity Council and the Latino Greek Council.
Although these groups previously held mixers for members, an event had never been organized for the four councils, Yovonie said.
"I think it's just a great chance to meet with other Greeks," Valen Hayden, Dallas senior of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, said.
Hayden said she was enthusiastic to meet people she had never seen, and who share similar backgrounds and also those from contrasting ones.
"By doing this I hope we enhance Greek relations with different groups and just become more diverse," Hayden said.
With more than 150 people in attendance, Haufman sophomore April Smith, one of the event's organizers, said she was extremely pleased with the turnout.
"I'm happy everyone is getting along," she said as she observed her friends cheer and shout as they talked while waiting for their chance to bowl.
Smith said the event was paid for by money raised by each of the fraternities and sororities participating.
"It's an easy way to meet people you don't normally see," John Hoffman, Fort Worth junior, said.
Yovonie said she hopes in the future, the various councils in the Greek community will reunite for similar events because they all share common lifestyles and values.
