American Idol--a twist
So I was looking at the contestants who did not make the final 12, and I nothiced that almost every one of them is non-white or otherwise fairly ethnic. Do you think that this affected America's voting?

Nah, I think it is just one of those weird conicidences. Plus I think America loves Ruben and he isn't white.

I don't believe it had an affect on anything. If you look at the top 12 you'll see a lot of multiculturalism:
Vanessa Olivarez is part latina.
Charles Grigsby, Corey Clark, Kimberly Locke, Ricky Smith, Trenyce, and Ruben are all African American.
Julia DeMato, Kimberly Caldwell, Carmen Rasmusen, Clay Aiken, and Josh Gracin are all White.
So if you look at it that way, there were split ethnically even.

I think that the final two will be Clay and Ruben because of their talent not their race.

I just thought that it was interesting that out of the semi-finalists, almost all of the white kids moved on. I mean, wtf did Julia and Carmen come from???

Carmen was the wild card pick. I am not sure about Julia though.

Julia really didn't start to not sing well until after the final 12 were selected. Also, she had hte hwole nice girl thing going for her because they were still playing up the argument that Kimberly Caldwell and she had had earlier in the selection process.

I think the winner might be Ruben but maybe I'm just saying that because he's my favorite so far.
I'm looking forward to picking up the AI2 compilation CD when it comes out. This years group is really talented IMO and it'll be nice to have their voices on CD. Then I can hear Ruben on command!
