Shirt for mama

Hey sororz,

This may seem crazy..but has anybody seen any shirts for mothers of Zetas lately? My mama is the type who thinks she is supposed to get a shirt from anything I'm involved in, so she has been askin' me for weeks why "that sorority hasn't sent her a shirt" lol...I know one of my prophytes had a shirt that said 'My daughter is a Z-Phi-B' on it..anybody know where I might be able to find that shirt?

toodlez!

How cute! It nice to see a mother who is so supportive of you and the things that you're involved in.

Shanni--

I have most often seen these shirts at regional conferences and Boule. At one Boule, I picked up two shirts: "my daughter is a Zeta" and "my mother is a Zeta." I wore the latter shirt and my mother and Grandmother the former. We all wore them the same day. It was cute because my mom IS a Zeta (Granny's an Amicae).

Just my own opinion, I do not find it appropriate that anyone outside of the oganization wear a shirt with the Greek letters ZFB --it can put the wearer of the shirt in an uncomfortable position if someone only notices the Greek letters and thinks they're actually a Zeta. I think it's much better to have the shirt say "my xyz is a member/sister of Zeta (or of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority)." I know some folks don't like these type of shirts at all, but I don't have a probably with them per se, as long as there is no Shield, Badge or Greek letter designation on them.

Have you tried your on campus bookstore? The bookstore at my school had them, but they stopped carrying them because of low sales.

True dat! 10 years ago, I went to the Greek Picnic and arrived in time to see some members of XYZ ripping the shirts off the teenage daughters of an initiated member. Apparently this person got the okay from the president of her grad chapter to create these shirts for them. The problem was that they said "Daughter of a XYZ" instead of spelling out the Greek words. After this woman got her sorors off her kids and she tried to explain that she had gotten approval to do this, one of them said, "You need to take your [shiznit] off too!"

That's crazy!

My mother has a "My daughter is an AKA" t-shirt that I bought for her. I can only slightly understand why someone would have a problem with this. It is evident that the person is not trying to perp.
All that other behavior is not necessary! Those 'sorors' (they may have been perps) needed to have their stuff taken just like that. They obviously didn't learn the true meaning of the sorority.

Please!

I wish someone would attempt to take anything off my child (if I had one) Soror or not- It would be going down- right to the police station where I would press charges for assault against them!

That is sooooo unlady like and uncalled for
