What a Girl Wants

Call me a preteen girl, but I actually liked this movie. Completely formulaic and predictable, but I say if a person buys a ticket to a romantic comedy, they have to expect certain things, such as cheesy dialogue and a lack of originality! Anyway, Colin Firth was adorable, and the younger guy wasn't half bad. The father-daughter dance scenes made me miss my daddy!

Has anyone else seen this movie? Maybe you took your 10 year old sister? What were your thoughts?

Sarah

I want to see it, if for no other reason than to see Colin Firth. I have loved him since he was in A&E's version of Pride and Prejudice.

Hopefully, I'll be able to catch this movie soon

Amanda Bynes is hot. I would dress her up like a nun and call her sister Mary Kate.

My daughters want to see it, so I'll probably take them this week. I admit I'm looking forward to it; seems like a few hours of cute, escapist fun

There's actually a website w/ a countdown to Mary Kate & Ashley's 18th birthday...LOL. I don't understand the allure, they still look like baby monkey children to me.

My girlfriends and I went and saw that on Friday for girls' nite out.

It was cute.

My only issue was that it personally touched a bit too close to home with me a few times, being that my dad died not that long ago.

But I enjoyed it. Probably because I dig Colin Firth so much.

I thought . . .

It was really cute. Definitely an Awwww movie. It got negative reviews though as being too formula.

I confess to liking fairytale type feel good movies with happy endings lol. If I need a dose of Real World, I watch the news or read a paper.

They did a good job showing how a vivacious personality can really make a difference in looks also.

Early Amanda characterwas very pretty because she was so alive.

Later amanda Character, that was trying to fit in, seemed much plainer.

Could have been the make-up also. Can make-up do that?

I thought I was the only person who thought they looked like monkeys! They've gotten better, but when they were babies -- UGH!
