A Delta Gamma......

This was given to us as new members and when I read this I realized what an awesome responcibility I was taking on. I part. enjoy the second and the last paragraphs.Maybe you can share it with your new members too, if you don't already....

"A Delta Gamma....

Can come in any size, shape or color. There is no common denominator except a love for her sisters and a desire to get the most out of her abilities. She is not only proud of her strengths but understands her weaknesses. She is first of all concerned with the good of her fraternity and knows what recognition will come through team excellence.

A Delta Gamma has the enthusiasm of an evangelist, the discipline of a monk, the heart of a warrior, and never loses the honesty of a small girl.

She appreciates the support of sisters, but she is much more aware of the example she is setting for some small girl watching from afar. She is happy about her accomplishments, but never forgets that a sister gave her the strenth and encouragement to achieve her goals. While she never lets up at either end, the other person is not her opponent; it is the full extent of her own potential that she is always playing against. She lets the president, with occasional assistance from advisors, do the regulating.

A Delta Gamma is made, not born. She is constantly striving to reach her potential knowing that she will bypass others who cannot withstand the strain of her quest for excellence. She realizes that the challenges and competition of today's tasks will better prepare her for tomorrow's world. She knows that the true measure of her performance is not recorded in gains and losses, but in how much of herself she has given to the fraternity.

A Delta Gamma never realizes when the odds are stacked against her. She is what a small girl wants to become and what an old woman can remember with great pride that she once was.
