I'm moving!

Hi sisters!

My husband just got a new job (yeah!) at Quantico Base in VA, and since we live in Southern MD (2 hours away from his new job), we will be moving to the Fredericksburg area in the near future (aka: as soon as we find a new place to live ). I am really excited, but I'm also sad: I have to leave my Gamma Mu chapter . I am contacting Nationals in the next few days to get some contact info for chapters in the area where we will be moving . I just wanted to share this with someone other than family; oh wait, you guys are family... my sisters!

We found a place! My husband's brother's fiance's father (everyone follow that? ) had a townhouse up for sale, but he's decided to take it off the market and rent it to us!!! We haven't seen it yet (we're going this weekend); all I know about it is that it has 3 bedrooms, and that it is 8 miles (or 8 minutes, can't remember which) from the Quantico base (great commute for hubby).

In Beta news, I called nationals, and got a phone number for the vp of a RoJ chapter in Fredericksburg. Once I know the address of the place where we'll live, I'm going to call nationals again and see if there are any other chapters close by.

That's great news to start this weekend off right. I'm sure you'll find a chapter nearby. (Just my 2 cents) You may want to check the Beta Journal under the links section and see if any chapters or council near the base that have a website. Good Luck.

We signed the lease on the townhouse today! It is so nice... 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath; in a nice little community. It's 8 minutes from my husband's work, about 30 minutes from Fredericksburg, 30 minutes from our best friends from college... and thisclose to Potomic Mills Mall (a HUGE outlet mall in VA)! I am so excited! We are going to start moving things in this week, and hopefully have most everything in by the end of this coming weekend!
Oh, and now that I know the exact town that we are going to be living in, I'm going to call nationals again and see if there are any other chapters close by.
I'm so excited to be moving!!!

Nicole, How close are you going to be to Norfolk? I will be attending Tau Beta Sigma national convention there this summer... Im already meeting up with my friend Heather, maybe a BSP meetup?

Its looks live you & your hubby are one step closer to a smooth transition to Quantico base and your new home. A town home will definitely be more comfy than an apt (especially if you plan to host a meeting at your place). I hope HQ has some good news for you soon.

p.s. I think it would be so kwel if the 3 of you (Alison + Jen )could "meetup" this summer. I'm trying to meet up w/2 Betas from this forum when OLAP meets in Dresden or Newark, OH last weekend of July or 1st wk-end of Aug.
