First Night Ideas and Name Chant
Hey, hey, hey! I'm Windi, a Phi Mu from the Delta Lambda chapter here at the University of Evansville. Just thought I would introduce myself!
Also, I just got appointed to be the chairperson for our first night party for fall recruitment and I am looking for some ideas about what to do for it. We think our theme party is going to be Alice in Wonderland oriented and our 2nd night party is going to have a door theme (a mix of the Alice thing and Monsters, Inc.- how all the doors revole around and stuff... does that make sense?). I would like a theme for that would work well w/ those two but it isn't a requirement. It's basically an introductory party and we have to be able to do things where the girls will get in and out very quickly. (Do ya'll have the 30 second in/out rules too?). Just curious to hear what others have done in the past for recruitment parties and what recruitment is like in general at other schools. Give me details! I love to hear about other schools and their chapters. UE is a small to medium size University (about 4000 students) and about 375 girl in the Greek system. My chapter is about 75 to 85 girls and are always just a tad below quota... usually make it up in COB.
Also, am looking for ideas for a name song/chant. The Chi O's do a snapping thing and the AOPi's do a clapping thing so we are looking for something that we can use every year but not either of those things. I hear Translyvania (I know I didn't spell that right!) has a good one...? Would love to hear any ideas/ comments/ stories!
