flooding in fraternity row....

ok, so last night i was really trashed when i got home, and i passed out hardcore---therefore i didnt know that there was a fire alarm, or that the sprinkler in the hallway of my floor was gushing water...
this morning i was hung over like a mother fucker, and stayed in bed all day. so its about 6:00 pm here in san diego, and i just left my apartment to see that the lower 3 feet of the walls in the hallway have been gutted, and there is huge fans blowing...i'm like what??? so i go down to the first floor and see that the hallway is completely gutted. its crazy.
i guess some guy hit the sprinkler and broke it...so he is going to have about a $50,000 bill for all the damage.

Yeah, Stan was at the other side of Frat Row babysitting a very plastered young woman when the alarm went off, and it did for at least 30 minutes (it's annoying as hell, you can hear it significantly 5 blocks away). So I walked this girl back to her dorm, and they wouldn't let us in for another 15 minutes!

THEN at 5 AM the alarm went off AGAIN, this time sporadically. Every ten-12 seconds the honk went off.

Unhappy

I always wince when I hear stuff like that. Probably because I'm so clumsy. I picture myself tripping and slamming into the sprinkler, breaking it.... and then being presented with a $50,000 bill the next week by my chapter.

Well... hopefully the guy either has some sort of insurance that will cover that, or really rich and really understanding parents!

Something similar happened when I was at school. They always tell you NOT to hang anything from the sprinklers. Well, guess what, this guy decided to hang a sweater up there to dry. I heard that he realized it right after he hung it up there and went to take it down, but of course by then it was too late. It ended up flooding 3 floors of the dormitory, and his parents' insurance had to pay for the damage, which I'm sure totaled more than $50,000!

Cool

Well anyone who's anyone whose lived in greek housing knows that sometimes things can get a little crazy. one time a few brothers at our house at UNT decided to wrestle and they did..straight into the lobby wall, and put a huge hole in the wall. It was funny everyone was so drunk no one even cared. Things can get pretty crazy to say the least.
