Danielle,
Being from your chapter, I don't know how much help I will be, other than I am an old fogie, and some things might've died out since I was a delta!
- Graffitti Social (everyone brings a white tee and a marker, you go around and get marked up with autographs and funny messages)
- Cinderella Social (the girls take off one shoe and leave it for the guys; this is a buddy match-up)
- My Tie (The guys put out their neckties and the girls pick them up; the guys then find their ties/buddy)
- Crazy Cups (the girls each decorate two cups, then place one out for the guys-- find out who matches up your cups)
- Pick Up Line (Matching Pick-up lines to find your buddy; we did this with Lambda Chi at the Wing Shack when I was a freshman; so much fun!)
- Ice Skating and Piano Bars are a ton of fun for the boys and the girls!
- In a pinch, get the guys to pay for the event! (We did this one year-- the boys paid up to do socials with ADPi!!!)
- Is there a smaller fraternity who wants to do something with the chapter, yet you're worried about turnout to the event and have a limited social budget? Yet, you don't want to seem rude or like you're showing a preference to the same chapters (Yeah, UCF--- it's always Lambda Chi, Sigma Chi, SAE, Sig Ep... Some things never change!) How about inviting those smaller groups (DU, Pi Kapp, Pike, etc.) to share an event-- co-hosting a philanthropy project (like RMH dinners, a community wall mural painting, etc), sharing a chapter dinner, co-hosting a Scholarship Dinner, attending a university-sponsored function (Dance Marathon, Art Exhibit, CAB event, GCLC, a lecture, Etiquette Dinner, etc.)
Hope these help!
Pi Love,
An Alum
PS: Get those grades up Zeta Omega!!!! We alum are counting on you to maintain the tradition!
