Not that it matters but Alpha Sigma Chi is a local sorority in Wisconsin.
Isn't Sigma Theta Delta a national honorary fraternity for English majors?? As someone else said-- you wouldn't want to be STD.
And Delta Epsilon Phi-- well this is my personal preference-- is awfully close to Delta Phi Epsilon which is an NPC sorority and a national foreign service fratenity.

There's also an Alpha Sigma Chi at one of the SUNY's (I think Oswego) - it's a local sorority.
Tau Sigma sounds the best, solely cause I don't think I've ever heard it before.

Tau Sigma has a nice ring. If you like Zappa, check out Project Object. They have a web page, I think it's www.projectobject.com, but I'm not for sure. Hot Rats!

The English honor society is Sigma Tau Delta.

Tau Sigma
Sounds pretty close to Tau Beta Sigma which is the national marching band sorority.

Several of our chapters went local with "Delta Sigma" after the dry house stuff came into effect.

There would be no alcohol involved ever with Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi. This would be a local, unaffiliated sorority.

Why 4 letters? It sounds as though you are saying you are the Epsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Kappa national sorority.

The sorority I am trying to create, according to the NPC is not affiliated with NPC or any other chapter. I e.mailed them (NPC) and they said:
Cristina - I am sorry but we have no information regarding local sororities.
Certainly you would be unaffiliated with NPC since your chapter is not
affiliated with one of the inter/national member groups. Good luck with
your project!

what 33girl meant is why 4 letters instead of 3 (ie- Sigma Kappa Pi)

Whether we remain as Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi or change the latter part after Sigma Kappa, that is up to the group. But we chose the name, partially because it's not being used by another group-
We see ourselves represented by SK.

Do you want to eventually affiliate with Sigma Kappa?
