Detroit

Me and three of my friends are having a girls night out on Friday night. We'd like to hit a really good dance club towards Detroit. The only bar that I've been to in Detroit is River Rock and the only other dance club that I have heard of is Space. I need help!

Also, if anyone can point me in the direction of a good Irish Pub I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Good Irish pub.... Ol Shalaley's.... totally spelled that wrong. I've never been but I heard it's an awesome time. Get there early so you can sit down. I heard it gets packed!

If you want the club to yourself... Boogie Fever Cafe on Woodward off of 9 Mile. It's by the Old Navy outlet. My friend deejays there on Thursday nights. Unfortunately, no one really goes there but it's a cool place.

Have a Nice Day Cafe in Pontiac.

Hockeytown Cafe is a must if you're visiting Detroit... still I've never been. 2nd City is above it.

Is the Old Shillelagh close to Tiger Stadium? If so, I've been there before a game...good times...

I've been to Have a Nice Day Cafe in Pontiac. My friends uncle is a bartender there. Last time that we were there we had way too many fishbowls! My husband had to pull over on the side of the expressway so my friend could get out of the car and puke her brains out, lol.

I haven't been to Hockeytown yet. I'm going to get there one of these days!

If you decide to go to Pontiac instead of Detroit, JD's Key Club is a lot of fun! Clutch Cargo (aka "the booty bar") and Crazy Mo's are down there, as well as a bunch of other bars and such.

I've been to Clutch before...we actually lost my husband in the bar. He had way too much too drink on the way down to Pontiac and when we got to Clutch he found a dark corner down in the basement and passed out! We spent a good two hours looking for him!!

Thanks for the suggestions!!!

Irish pubs do rule!

We moved to Denver from Detroit over twenty years ago, but I still have great memories (and a really nice "going away" windbreaker from my last night there which I wear every St. Pats) of a little place on the Southfield Freeway (at 7 or 8 mile, I think), called O'Halloran's Tiperarry Pub."

Tommy and Catherine O'Halloran were the owners. I heard that she passed away, and I suspect Tommy has retired by now -- but what a great place.

Lots of TV people and cops. Along with live entertainment several nights.

Anyone know if it's still there?
