Song for Talent Competion

My chapter is entering a contestant into a campus-wide competition. This would be great for us and greek life if he does well. Essentially it's a beauty contest for males I guess.

The biggest question we have is what to do for the talent. He was pressed for time so he said he would sing or rap or something to that extent. Anyone have any ideas?

I've heard that other schools have either greek or campus events that are like this, so any advice you give would be well appreciated.

Our theme last spring for Greek Week skit last year was "Game Shows" - for ours, we did a StarSearch theme with different events. I held down the 'finale' by doing an Adam Sandler-style acoustic song where I pretty much just joked around with the event, made fun of our chapter (and a couple others, mostly girls) and had a good time with it. It was cheesy as hell, but they laughed (OK, AEPhi didn't . . . at all, my bad). That might work ok for what you need.

He should sing whatever he can sing WELL. Just because a song is fun or something, if he can't sing it, it's going to sound bad. Something in his range and style, and something that he could have stage prescence for. I think stage prescence counts in these things SO much.

Considering this is something girls will be judging, which angle works best (humour, romantic, etc.).

AXO throws a Mr AXO male "beauty contest" every fall.
Lambda Chi always gets high marks in the talent competition part. One year they entered a guy that supposedly looked like Justin Timberlake (I don't really think so, but hey) and he and 4 other brothers were N'Sync and they did "Pop." Supposedly the judges loved it.

So maybe take a song that is really popular now... OR (my personal favorite) do a song that was popular in another era and have him dress the part.
