Smile Pledge Ritual Tomorrow!

I am so excited! Tomorrow my chapter is doing our pledge ceremony. Everyone is getting all dressed up, and I'm making strawberry tarts for the occasion. I will be reading the ritual, and my VP will be helping me with the pinning.

I can't wait!

Erica

Congratulations, Erica! Be sure to tell us all about it (well, within reason of course)

So happy to be official!

I am on cloud 9 right now. The ceremony was so nice. We tried to take it very seriously and make everything beautiful, but of course, there were a few moments of giggling. The VP and I officiated, and we had never read it together before so there were couple of funny moments. Anyway...it really was very special, and I will always remember our first ritual.

Afterward, we had a little business meeting/celebration. My husband made strawberry tarts for us. Isn't that so sweet?! While we enjoyed our treats, we talked about Rush. We are going bowling tomorrow afternoon, and six girls who are interested in joining will be coming along. We also made plans for our Strawberry Bash in December.

We have decided to use a family structure in our chapter. Since there are 10 of us, it was easy to divide into pairs. When ever we accept new sisters, each one will be assigned to a family. That way everyone will get to have a little sister even if we don't take in ten new people. Better yet, we will be able to share the cost of really spoiling a little sister! I can't wait!

Aw, Erica.. I'm so happy for you (and a little bit envious too). Congratulations on all of your hard work. You've proven that persistence pays off!

Yay!! Congrats on going through the pledge ceremony, Erica! (It really is beautiful, isn't it? ) I love your idea of "pairing up" to have families in your chapter, I think that is so sweet. I wish my chapter could do that, but most of the women are Navy wives (whose husbands get restationed every few years), so it really wouldn't work to well, so we'll just stick with picking secret sisters each year! Again, I am so happy for you and your (and my) new sisters! (I've never met you face-to-face and yet I feel so close to you... Isn't Beta great?!!!)

With Beta Love,
Nicole

Erica! Congrats! I cant wait until we get pinned!!! Ugh, its taking so long because I dont have money, and many of the other girls dont have money... its frustrating! I got paid 76 bucks for the past two weeks of work, and Im used to making close to 200 for two weeks... its gone too I have no one I can borrow from who would loan me $22 until next payday (Im paying for myself and my TBS little, who is also joining - its part of her TBS initiation present!)

*sigh*

Thanks, Everyone!

This has been a great weekend. I can't wait to meet our rushees this afternoon.

Alison...have you considered choosing the smallest payment option? Alot of the girls in my group had to do that. If you elected to keep the $5 for the chapter, you could owe IHQ as little as $11 (I think).

Good luck to everyone pursuing membership!

Erica

Yea, we all are doing the $11, but it comes down to the fact that I dont have $22 to send in for mine and Jess's dues. *sigh* I think I may send in a check and then get the money into my back account...
